“History and archaeology of Krakow”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

This museum is amazing, as it extends under the square in several directions. It shows how the city developed over the centuries. There are also countless displays on the history of Poland- check out the short movies on different periods in the history of the country, We stayed here for over 2 hours, it was a good break from outside in the heat of the day. The door is a little hard to find.

“a bit dissapointing”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Having read about the museum and the fact that it was relatively new and under cloth hall I was looking forward to visiting. The order of how you navigate the exhibits is not clearly shows even though there is a map, there are a lot of multi media screens which does mean waiting for the information in the language you select. The lighting is also quite dim. The best part were the films at the end of the exhibits.

“Time well spent”
Reviewed 26 July 2014 via mobile

Worth a visit after the Krakow free walking tour.Tickets need to be bought in advance for allocated time of visit.Learn about history of Krakow, the Market Place and surrounding landmarks such as St Mary's Cathedral,Wawel Castle,Jagellonian University and the culture. Can easily spend 1.5hrs.Ticket per entry reasonable.Good presentations using multimedia.

“Dull - all style & no substance”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

I cannot agree more with the previous reviewer who found this museum incredibly boring. There was very little to see here - a case of style over substance. The interactive information screens were slow, and I saw a lot of people give up on them completely. A lot of the information they contained was very basic and common sense - it felt like it was written for children. The mini Imax is also a complete waste of space - a bizzare pictorial account of the history of Krakow with no narrative. The museum contained very few artefacts and the reconstructions were pretty dull - there is actually a reconstruction of a burnt down log cabin - pointless! Give it a miss.
