This would have to be one of the best hotel concepts I have ever seen, and why.
To start with Ibis Budget turns the meaning of Budget, into Comfort, Class and Convenience. With staff who are very helpful and give you a ‘well above’ your normal hotel welcoming. They treat you like they are your friend and nothing was too much trouble, for any of the staff. They are only more than happy to help you with info, forward travel plans, local advice; they even offered to give me a personal knock on my door for a wakeup call, as there is no phone in the room. This was truly not expected at all, so I declined, as I felt guilty. Honestly, the service from staff is something you are lucky to achieve or receive in some 5 star hotels. And I do love and stay at my Sofitel.
The Room; WOW simple, very clean and all that you could need, although a fridge would have been good, however I imagine it would not be needed during winter months, but it is very hot in Poland during summer. If you love modern gadgets then you will love playing with them, for hours. The Shower, you can dance in it, coloured lights and all - I loved it. The room lighting, I was still finding other mood lighting functions 2 days later. The Bed as in usual Ibis style and comes complete with very comfortable pillows. Under the bed is perfect for luggage storage. So you have been told, no more complaints please, just use it. There is also ample space to hang clothes and place shoes and other items. It is a very basic room but extremely comfortable. Air conditioner was perfect and no noise at all. With a window that opens too, it made for great room comfort.
The location was a big plus for this hotel, you will see it as you arrive by train and Galleria Krakow is right beside you. Top tip; don’t Cross the road, unless you have a green walk sign at your crossing or you will get a ticket. Last but most important is breakfast, it is basic (no eggs) but will get you through the day, if you find it not enough you can always pay a little more and head next door to the Ibis. See, everything is all thought out for their guests.
I will be back for sure, even if a Sofitel is built any time soon in Krakow!
I have never stayed at Ibis Budget hotels before, so I haven't any expectations . I knew that it is the cheapest brand within the Ibis family but things look quite good as for it's standards. The hotel is located side by side the Cracow Main Railway Station, however quiet inside .
The first sight of the reception desk shows modern and fashionable place. Staff is helpful and friendly. I booked twin room called cocoon & design- rather small but it's enough spacious to spend a night. Bed is rather narrow but I haven't any reason to complain for that. Design is really fresh and bright. The most impressive thing is the lighting in the room that you can use in many ways to create your own mood. WiFi is free in the room that is the nice surprise in comparison with much more expensive hotels. You can reach the shower directly from the room, the basin is located in the room area too. Only WC was in the separate space. Breakfast is also cheap but you shouldn't have so big expectations about a wide variety of food - just basic but tasty. There aren't so many places to eat so you could have a small problem with it. I can recommend this hotel for a short stay - I will be back there very soon.
