We recently spent four days in Krakow and since I have celiac disease, had done some research on restaurants in the area that had gluten-free options. Then we stumbled upon this one when we were just looking for a mid-morning coffee break, and I was astonished to see a gluten-free symbol next to some of their menu items! We went back another day for dinner and I had the gluten-free aglio olio pepperoncini which was very tasty. Followed it by the gluten-free chocolate cake, which was amazing!

I wish we had gotten to go back because there were several other things on the menu marked gluten-free that I would've liked to try: potato pancakes with mushroom sauce, corn pancakes with maple syrup... Also a plus that since it's in the Jewish district, the offerings are different from other gluten-free menus around town. Plus, the whole restaurant is vegetarian and there's another symbol on the menu for items that are vegan. All the staff speaks English and is friendly. Highly recommended!

I've stayed at Mlynek on a couple of occasions; once in a suite and once in a single room. On both occasions the room was excellently prepared and was warm even in the middle of a Polish winter. The food downstairs is excellent and the staff are very friendly and all of them speak English. I can recommend the Slodki Sniadanie for breakfast. It's right in the middle of the Kazimierz district which is perfect for going out and the beautiful Stare Miasto is only minutes away.

We stayed in an apartment nearby (not in Mlynek) and ate breakfast everyday here. We found it a delightful place to start with delicious choices and excellent drinks. There is also a lovely evening atmosphere.

stayed in this place on the 8th july for a week, greatly misleading adverts on booking.com, promised luxury hotel room of very high standards. what we actually got. payed 10 euros extra than was agreed on booking .com,they do not understand that one prebooks to freeze the price, and changing it is unacceptable on arrival.this is just the start . what they do not tell you is that to get to the room you need to do 66 steps, no elevator, room was not cleaned once all week, they expect you to reuse towels,on my insistence i got fresh towels every day. staff there are excellent to be fair, they are expected as i noticed to do all jobs like cooking, cleaning, assigning rooms ,serving etc etc, exploitation from were i come from, no aircon or even basic fan great for july . last but not least the manager never shows his face for good reason i think, he leaves his staff facing the music. and to finish the spacious double room we were sold turned out to be 10 foot square.
next time i will do myself a favor and check well before i book not rely on other peoples comments. needless to say never again.

Room Tip: choose and book your holidays in reputable hotel chains only, dont take the risk.

We took 29 people (mostly teachers, mostly meat eaters) to the restaurant and a fantastic vegetarian/vegan buffet was provided (with added pianist!). The food was excellent - many of our group commenting that it was the best they had had all week. I deliberately didn't tell people in advance that the food would be veggie/vegan in case they had a "typical meat-eater" reaction! One of the group said that he would have had that "oh no, I'm going to eat grass and cardboard" reaction and was pleasantly surprised that he ate the best food that week in Krakow.

Really friendly staff and a real concern that our needs were met and that we were happy. The food was varied and of excellent value, working out at half the cost per head of the meat based restaurants we went to on the other evenings. Some of us went back for lunch the next day and the food and service was of the same high standard.

Even though they were warned in advance that I would arrive in the evening I got there and there was no one at the reception. It was 9 pm and the sign on the reception's door said they are open until 10 pm. The friendly people at the Restaurant downstairs tried to reach them by phone and couldn't find anybody to come open for me. How irresponsible it is towards a guest to be unreachable and even close the doors before the stated time?! Talk about service! I had to find another accommodation in the last minute.
