A friend who was visiting Krakow, asked me where was a nice place for a coffee and snack right in the middle of Krakow and Cafe Zakatek immediately sprang to mind. It had already been recommended to me by a Polish friend and I have returned several times over the years, the last time being a few years ago. Glad to see it is still there.

The entrance to the alley leading to the Cafe is a bit off putting, with a Solarium / Tattoo sign above the Cafe sign, but just go down the alley and you will find a great wee place for a coffee, sandwich and pastries. Very nice service, food and good prices. The view however is not scenic, but you cannot have everything. Nice and cosy in the winter months.

Top tip, do not tell too many folk about this place as getting a seat is difficult enough at the moment.

Lovely café out of the croud with amazing teas and a cozy, rétro atmosphere. Definitely one of my favourite places where to spend a quiet afternoon.

As others have said, this is a great little cafe hidden away in old Karków. It's just a few steps off from the rynek (market square), down a dim corridor, and tucked into the corner of a shabby courtyard next to a tattoo/piercing place and a bike rental place. If I hadn't known about what a delightful little cafe awaits on the other end, I would have been quite apprehensive about venturing down the corridor at night. The place is quite small, but offers a good bit of space to relax with a romantic partner or friends over tea, coffee, hot chocolate, mulled wine, or beer. Definitely will go back again when I'm in town.

Stopped off here for afternoon tea en-route back to the hotel. Quaint tea room with delightful décor taking you back almost 100 years when stepping inside! Offering great selection of cakes and drinks and was a pleasant place to rest our feet and get out of the cold for a while!

This cafe is very difficult to find for those who have never been there before.
However, a small sign above the courtyard entrance will guide the curious ones inside.
The place is very small but has a tremendous atmosphere and serves great small-plates and drinks.
I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Krakow.

Pros
1. Amazing ambiance and atmosphere
2. Great small plate food including sandwiches, soups, snacks & appetizers (cheese tray etc)
3. Great hot and cold drinks (mostly non alcoholic)
4. Great for breakfast (French, American, European) or lunch.

Cons
1. Very small - limited seating. usually packed with people so you must be lucky to get an empty seat
