The beauty of the interior was breathtaking, so amazing, what people did for their religion in the old days. It has a lot of history and was left a bit run down, but then taken over by Chabad, who have taken a lot of time and energy to have it restored to its old eminence, The facade is quite plain as it had to be, and not so so high as the churches, cathedrals as the powers that were at that time didn't want it to inspiring for obvious reasons. During the festival there were some magnificent concerts, from Klezmer ,(the best, from America etc) The All stars, Jazz a wonderful big band, A-wa who are a Yemeni folk/harmony almost pop beat, 3 Yemeni sisters from Istoel, Shura Lipovsky, a beautiful Contemporary Yiddish Singer (Pure Magic) and so many wonderful great acts, it would take me all night to mention them. You would be able to look up on the internet the festival to get an Idea.
