the hotel is old and smelly and everything about it stinks both literally and metaphorically. Imagine 1974 was the last time anybody gave a damn about doing anything remotely related to the concept of refurbishment. Noisy, dirty, falling apart, damn awful... in addition to that its right outside several niteculbs, dont get me wrong im up for hedonism, but this is the 2nd most worse hotel i ever stayed in, and ive stayed in about 100.

Room Tip: do not stay here unless u like to rough it

Almost on the main square (100m), walking distance (<1km) to train and bus station (for airport transfer). Clean, straightforward, classic European style hotel. Not luxury, as in there are no facilities to do anything this the hotel except breakfast, but with so much, so close outside the hotel doors, its no problem. Strong recommendation.

Room Tip: At weekends ask at the desk for a quiet room if you are a light sleeper, some of the rooms are close...

Having lived in Krakow as a student, I've been going back every year since I finished and Saski is the only hotel I stay in. The location is perfect! If you are afraid of noise in the night ask for a room facing the backyard.

I stay in the junior suite and its very nice, with sweet decor and good beds. No tea or coffe, but Krakow is a cheap city! Go out and have coffe!

Breakfast in a restaurant next door, be aware that Poland has no regulations on smoking indoors.

In short, this is my home away from home - at a good value.

Krakow is one of the best finds in Europe. Lots to do, a place where thousands of college age kids make the city alive. The old town square is a bustling place and the place to be while visiting the city. The Saski hotel is just a few meters walk from the square and allows you to call the square home. The hotel is an old but well restored 15th century monastery. The old metal cage elevator welcomes you as you enter the hotel and is fun to ride. The deco is fun too, trying to bring you back to old Europe. The room I stayed in was small but very adequate. The staff friendly but sparse. The connecting bar is outstanding and very well decorated. A great place for the free breakfast as well as a late night drink. The room prices are fair but remember you are right in the middle of the action. Lots of great shopping, restaurants, pubs and historical places to visit. Try to get a room that is not on the street side, can be quit a bit noise when bars close.. An hour ride west is Auschwitz and to the east salt mines, well worth spending time at each.

Just stayed at the Saski Hotel for 3 nights - very good location just off square in Old Town, very comfortable hotel, pleasant and helpful staff, can be rather noisey from clubbers on thier way home! Good restaurant/bar next door Metropolitan (where you have breakfast) - nice cocktails. Used Krakow-trip whilst we were there - very prompt service.

I have stayed at the Hotel Saski several times and I have been happy to recommend it to many friend, of all ages. Everyone I have suggested it to have been more than happy.

The location is one of the best in the city at just 20 metres to teh main square. Although there is not a good view of the main square, this is possibly a good thing as the noise levels are low after midnight.

This said, if you are concerned about noise - there is some as ul. Slawkowska has a few (excellent) late bars on it - I would recommend asking for a room over the courtyard.

Although the Hotel Saski had gone up in price in recent years, it is still very good value for a hotel so close to the main square and with such great service.

I would recommend this hotel to both budget travellers and travellers for whom money is no object....you should get one of their suites....great rooms!!!
