my 4th time at this hotel. stayed 11th to 14th august.basic and clean. location really good.had room 205 very noisey as over a main street.noise on going till 5am. then the street cleaners begin. so no respite from noise.overall for what you pay for a city hotel i wont complain. and will probably stay there again next august.better the devil you know!!!!!!! but will ask for a courtyard room.

Room Tip: room over the courtyard would b less noisey

I stayed 4 nights in July 2013. First the good: the men who worked at the desk were very friendly and helpful. Our room was enormous - I don't know if we were upgraded to a suite or if all the rooms were like this, but our room had a large "living room" with a couch and chairs, separate from the very large bedroom area. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very clean, and we made use of the laundry service, which was VERY reasonably priced. The location is terrific, barely a block from the main square and surrounded by tons of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, etc. etc. The included breakfast was in the restaurant next door (but connected via the lobby) and very impressive, with a wide array of offerings.

The downside: Because of its location, and being a very old (but charming!) building, it was LOUD. The hustle and bustle of the main square and the surrounding bars doesn't die down until at least 3 am, and in fact I think it gets louder and rowdier after about 11pm. Even with our windows tightly closed, we could hear everything - shouts, music, drunk guys (hey, it's Poland!), partying college kids. Perhaps some rooms face a different direction and would be quieter, so it's worth asking. But note that if you are a light sleeper, you may well be kept up nearly until sunrise by the noise.

Room Tip: Ask if any rooms are less noisy.

Hotel Saski is just off the main square, very central for walking around the city. It's a traditional building with a fabulous old lift complete with attendant to open the sliding grill and the door. Rooms vary quite a bit in size, style and level of street noise. This stay I had quite a large room overlooking the main entrance. The street was noisey one night of three. Good bed, good bathroom, all very clean. The breakfast was not as good as my previous stays, no fresh fruit, no choice of bread.

Reception is very good and goes out of its way to help. I could not keep my room till an evening flight, but a bathroom was made available for me. Overall, a very good place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.

Just back from 2 night stay at saski hotel. The location is great, just off the main square where the bars and restaurants are. The hotel dates back to the 1920's and is very old fashioned. Hotel spotlessly clean. Very, very noisy at night, endured listening to a Polish street fight at 5am today just below our window, police called and eventually calmed down! Don't think we would return.

The hotel building is magnificent, and the location, few steps from the main square is ideal in a way. Acoustics of the XVI century building (though in quite a goof condition) is great, to better or worse. The most troubles though come from Pijalnia nearby, working till dawn, with its excited voices from Polish youth, sounds of broken bottles and sudden noises from containers moving over the street bricks.
Other than that - breakfast is Ok, staff is helpful, and the room is clean.

The original hotel I chose was fully booked and I was reconmended this hotel and was apprehensive about staying here once I saw the reviews as I was taking my parents here for the weekend. You honestly get what you pay for here... we had a family room which was huge - one room with two single beds and a large front room with bed settee, armchairs and tv. Large shower room. Dont expect luxury as the hotel is old fashioned but absolutely spotless and you couldnt get closer to the main square if you tried. All for £300 for three nights. Breakfast is typical eastern european as expected but you can order other stuff if you wish for extra money which to be honest is so cheap anyway - the pancakes are lovely. Staff are friendly and will do anything for you. The Porters are fantastic and very accomodating. As for the noise....yes you heard the club and the lift at night - but we were all so tired from walking and doing the tours that world war three could have started and wouldnt have heard a thing as we were shattered. The restaurants near are excellent as well!!

Room Tip: We were at the back and still heard the club.. however it didnt keep me awake..I am more inclined to...

Ever wondered what it would be like to sleep in a loud-speaker cabinet?
Cold water is good, hot water is good but the lukewarm stuff from the hot tap was worrying.
Pushy porter: I'd managed 1500 miles in my own car and even found somewhere to park it in Krakow-so I *do not* need to have my case grabbed by a porter...I can move it (the case) up a couple of floors and corridors without intrusive *help*. Many other hotels could wisely recognise this.

Room Tip: Have your ears removed before trying to sleep!
