“Stag party to Krakow”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2013

Brilliant location, 1 minute walk from the main square. Rooms were large.

Breakfast was very average. Small amount of options to choose from.

Great price considering the location.

Would stay again, but would order room without breakfast option. As there are loads of restaurants in close proximity to the hotel where breakfast could be bought very cheaply.

A slightly dated, but all the more charming for that, historical hotel just a stone's throw from the Main Market Square. They had missed my booking when I arrived and for this reason put me in a suite, which was just great. The room was very clean and quiet just slightly cold for me. I only heard the club everyone is talking about on one night and it stopped at 11pm, so no problems with that. Breakfast was what you would expect from a 3 star hotel and more. They can cook eggs for you on request and if you are prepared to pay something extra, not much, pan cakes. I wanted to try the pan cakes but found everything else too enjoyable to skip for one morning. A couple of issues I had: breakfast is served from 7.00 to 11.00 but at 10.30 there was nothing left and staff did not replenish the buffet. And also I asked the receptionist to confirm my tour with a local company that I had booked on the internet and when I went to pay the bill at check-out, she had charged me for the call. I found this very strange, as this is a standard service that hotel receptions in Europe provide and not only have I never been charged for something like this before but they were more than keen to do for me. Overall, I think that the customer service is the one area that this hotel could improve in...but, I would stay there again and recommend you do.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the inner courtyard as it is more quiet.

Great position, 50m from the central square of Krakow and 5 minute walk from Galleria Krakowska and the Central Rail Station.
I chose this hotel simply basing my judgment on the price: 60€ per night.
Average room, with average forniture, empty frigobar, and buffet breakfast.
Needless to say that average means still positive.
What was definitely not positive were the windows, not sound-proof.

PROS:
- Large room
- Central location
- You can connect multiple devices to WiFi (also see cons)
- Lots of power sockets
- Free bottles of water

CONS:
- Noisy! There is a club under the hotel which you can hear until 3am most nights even with the windows closed.
- Internet didn't work 95% of the time. Still wasn't fixed after a week.
- Breakfast is sub-standard. Two cereals, two cold meats and orange drink (not juice). No fruit or fruit yoghurt. Coffee costs around €2 extra.
- They have a laundry service, but do not offer dry cleaning. Laundry service must be paid in cash and even though they say it takes 5 hours, it took 2 days.

my 4th time at this hotel. stayed 11th to 14th august.basic and clean. location really good.had room 205 very noisey as over a main street.noise on going till 5am. then the street cleaners begin. so no respite from noise.overall for what you pay for a city hotel i wont complain. and will probably stay there again next august.better the devil you know!!!!!!! but will ask for a courtyard room.

Room Tip: room over the courtyard would b less noisey

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2013

I stayed 4 nights in July 2013. First the good: the men who worked at the desk were very friendly and helpful. Our room was enormous - I don't know if we were upgraded to a suite or if all the rooms were like this, but our room had a large "living room" with a couch and chairs, separate from the very large bedroom area. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very clean, and we made use of the laundry service, which was VERY reasonably priced. The location is terrific, barely a block from the main square and surrounded by tons of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, etc. etc. The included breakfast was in the restaurant next door (but connected via the lobby) and very impressive, with a wide array of offerings.

The downside: Because of its location, and being a very old (but charming!) building, it was LOUD. The hustle and bustle of the main square and the surrounding bars doesn't die down until at least 3 am, and in fact I think it gets louder and rowdier after about 11pm. Even with our windows tightly closed, we could hear everything - shouts, music, drunk guys (hey, it's Poland!), partying college kids. Perhaps some rooms face a different direction and would be quieter, so it's worth asking. But note that if you are a light sleeper, you may well be kept up nearly until sunrise by the noise.

Room Tip: Ask if any rooms are less noisy.

Hotel Saski is just off the main square, very central for walking around the city. It's a traditional building with a fabulous old lift complete with attendant to open the sliding grill and the door. Rooms vary quite a bit in size, style and level of street noise. This stay I had quite a large room overlooking the main entrance. The street was noisey one night of three. Good bed, good bathroom, all very clean. The breakfast was not as good as my previous stays, no fresh fruit, no choice of bread.

Reception is very good and goes out of its way to help. I could not keep my room till an evening flight, but a bathroom was made available for me. Overall, a very good place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.
