I stay at this hotel whenever I visit Krakow. It is very close to the train station and a short walk to the main square. The train to the airport is usually very convenient (stopped now for renovations). Breakfast is included and quite good. Not all rooms have A/C which can be important during the hot summer months. An open window in a front room along Lubicz Street can be noisy with the tram outside. But if you want something other than a chain hotel, try this one. I love it.

This hotel is very close to the train station and about a 10 or 15 minute walk to the old town. We had a large room in the first floor, complete with sofa and chairs. The decor is pretty old fashioned and ornate.

The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was good and varied. It was good value so, if you are not bothered about the lack of modern facilities, this place will be fine for you. It is only 5 minutes from one of the best (quality and value) restaurants in town - Trzy Kroki. Turn right out of the hotel, cross over on the pedestrian bridge, proceed right, along the street. You will soon come to this basement restaurant, on a street corner.

The hotel has been around for well over a century and is really showing its age. But the bar is nice and new, the breakfast is great, and the wifi works well. You can't get a better location: 5 minutes from the train station and the Old Town.

I attended a conference here in April 2014. The hotel is comfortable enough, and our room was large, with a good seating area and comfortable chairs. The décor is a bit fin de siècle, which is charming, but the lack of a lift would make life difficult if you are not so mobile and on an upper floor. We were on the second.
Location is excellent, with everything a short walk away. The large shopping mall is opposite, and shops are a mixture of international names as well as local ones. Avoid MacDonald's, look for local ice cream!
The market square is the social centre of Krakow, and evening entertainment is superb, with live bands in cellar bars. Rock and roll, jazz, classical, you name it. And the horse drawn carriage rides are most agreeable in the sunshine. The market building itself has an excellent array of artisan outlets, and the fur and leather wear is particularly good value.
Prices are generally very competitive - my wife bought several jumpers and other things, and the sale prices were silly. Low that is.
The hotels and bars on the square are upmarket and friendly. Nice food, not expensive, and rather cosmopolitan.
There are trips advertised everywhere and our social secretary organised trips to the salt mines in Wielizska and the extermination camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau. The latter is a definite bucket job, or was for me. + This is a great hotel, for its location, the very friendly and helpful staff, the decor is lovely, rooms are a good size with sofa and chairs, tea and coffee facilities, and bottled water, the bed was extremly comfortable.
Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and even eggs and bacon cooked to order. Evening meals were very good, in fact we ended up eating here several times.
The patio area and garden full of flowers was lovely, shame it was too cold to enjoy it.
- There's no lift, which was'nt a problem for us, but there is one now being built.

After a very efficient and inexpensive train ride from the airport to the train station, it was a two minute, easy walk to the hotel, even with luggage. The hotel itself is just lovely - a pretty and comfortable waiting area, a quiet garden at the courtyard, gorgeous old country style hallways, and a pretty dining area. Our room, with en suite bath, was on the street overlooking a plaza, but even with open windows it wasn't noisy, and sleeping was easy. The room itself was immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Good layout allowed ease of charging the electronic paraphernalia we carted around. The breakfast was diverse enough for any taste, the tea and coffee were both excellent, the pączki fresh and delicious, and there was a good selection of brunch type foods for later risers. Dinner was similarly interesting and moderately-priced, with a variety of local options as well as menu items more common for Americans. I'd definitely opt for the local options - well made and tasty. There is lobby access to a computer for those who need internet access. The desk clerks spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful in recommending how best to explore the Old Town on foot, and in finding us an exceptional car-driver for a few out-of-area trips. We opted to spend a few nights away, and they were kind enough to return us to the same room when we got back to Krakow. There's an ATM just a couple of doors away, which was incredibly convenient, and the walk to the bus stop just a few more minutes. A galleria type shopping area is just a 5 minute walk and in the same area, an open stall market with pottery and jewelry and such -- fun shopping and some bargains. Didn't see a lot of children in the hotel, it was almost all adults, but the rooms would easily lend themselves to adding a cot for small children. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel as a good central location

Great location if you need or want to be near the train station (convenient for getting to the Salt Mines, Auswitch and the airport), and was only 5 minutes from the old town.
Rooms were spacious, warm, and clean. Hotel is big so the staff are polite but not very warm. Breakfast was excellent (great eggs!). Only complaint was that on THEIR website they say each room is kitted out with a safe box, when in fact they are not.
