We visited Krakow on an extremely warm and very sunny weekend at the end of April, which only enhanced this fabulous and beautiful city. As for the Polonia Hotel it was a charming, classic period hotel, a little tied in places but very clean and functional. We were given a room on the top floor at the back of the hotel facing the courtyard which was very quiet even with the windows open, but friends of ours had a room at the front of the hotel which was a little noisier and filled with early morning sunshire and so may appeal to heavier sleepers. Breakfast is the classic continenal mix of ham, cheese, coffee, juice, cereal etc, if you want scrabbled eggs just ask for them at the bar.
The hotel has a good range of information available about Krakow, from maps, tourist routes around the city, too bar and restaurants guides, if you are a bit of a beer connoisseur and i mean a lover of quaility beer rather than large copious amounts, you must go to the House Of Beer, if you like a good english pub head for the Bull Pub.
A couple more points regarding the Polonia, there is a safe at the hotel just ask at reception and if you require an iron and an ironing board again just ask.
One final thing, please be cautious regarding the lift, it is quite old style and requires you to enter the lift and stand away from the door before selecting your floor, enough said!
We would use this hotel again on a return visit to Krakow.
