“Great location great experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Visited Krakow during EURO 2012 and stayed at the Grand Hotel. Decided i wanted to return to Krakow and stay at the the Grand. Recommended Krakow and the Grand to my daughter who had a very enjoyable stay last February and I returned in April bringing my wife. We both had a great time and she wants to return.

Room Tip: The hotel has a great location just down from the main square and as it is on the street in can be a...

In our opinion this hotel was more like a four star hotel. We had great expectations and was a bit disapointed. Breakfast was simple but ok, and you had to pay ekstra if you wanted freshly made juice, if they had any at all. The room was big and the matresses were good, but we are used to one big bed, not two separate beds standing close to each other. Nobody asked for our preference. We also missed a mirror in full size and the light in the bathroom was poor. No eveningservice in the room. No restaurant available at the moment. Location was very good.

Stayed at this beautiful hotel for a 3 night break in Krakow. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was on the 2nd floor facing the front of the building and was noisy during the early hours of the morning when the late night revellers came out the night clubs but apart from that it met our needs well. The bathroom was very spacious and complete with a wide range of toiletries and complimentary bathrobes and slippers. The bed and pillows were very cmfortable and supportive. The bedroom was large and palatial also exceptionally clean. There is a flat screen TV (only one English news channel), hairdryer and safe. Sadly no tea or coffee making facilities. Although free WiFi is provied the signal in our room was so poor we gave up trying to connect to the service.

Breakfast is typical continental style with heated choices limited but overall acceptable. We tried the bar one evening but were the only people there and a member of staff had to find the barman to serve us! The dining facilites and bar seemed very under utilised during our stay which is sad given the opulence this hotel offers under its roof.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear of the building as the front rooms are facing a busy throughfare and are...

The hotel still has style and the location is perfect. But is it worth the price? The service was great and we did not have any specific complaints. However, the name and room price created higher expectations.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is refurbished. Ours was not.

This is a perfect hotel for a short stay in Cracow. Centrally located in the old town, with clean rooms and a very nice breakfast, I was very satisfied with the choice. Also, good value for the money spent. It may appear a bit dated but it is well kept and clean, and as such does make an overall good impression. Fnally, the staff was very friendly and professional.

I'm sure back in the day it was one of 'the" places to stay in Krakow. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean but in need of some updating to fully showcase it's grandeur. Also, we had room 47. Insist that you do not have a room anywhere on that hallway. The windows face a street where there is a nightclub and it is NOISY until 4am!! I mean there is shouting!! But a big plus is that it is only a block from the main square one way and about 3 blocks the other direction to the park that encircles the city.

Room Tip: DO NOT settle for a room that faces the night club.

On balance, the hotel was fine. The public areas of the hotel are quite grand though the rooms are nothing special. The staff, while efficient, were aloof. I was traveling with a friend on a 4 night stay. Our room faced the street across the street from the Lizard Lounge making for non-stop drunken revelry. To be fair, the streets are narrow so there is a lot of rebound noise. Three, count 'em three, days we requested a quieter room only to be told they would look into it but did not anticipate there would be one available. This was all very curious as the hotel seemed empty (very few guests at breakfast or walking around the lobby). The location was fantastic being just one block off the main square. As other reviewers have indicated, the quality of the towels were pathetic and the hairdryer useless.

Room Tip: Request an interior room if you're a light sleeper - street facing rooms are extremely noisy
