“Great hotel in the heart of Krakow old town”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

My sister and I stayed at this great hotel at the end of May for 4 nights. The location is perfect, an easy walk to the old square, castle and river. After reading some of the reviews about noisy trams we requested a quiet room at the back of the hotel, we were actually upgraded to a much larger room that had a kettle, tea , coffee and bottled water. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom, only soap is provided so don't forget to bring your own toiletries. Breakfast was very good with plenty of meats, cheeses , fresh fruits and yoghurts to choose from. The staff were helpful , friendly and all spoke English, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the back.

My seven friends and I stayed at this hotel from Monday 26th May until Sunday 1st June. We were exploring the Krakow region during the day so only used the hotel for our breakfast, a few drinks in the evening and of course the most important thing - sleeping!
The hotel is situated in a fantastic location, within five minutes walk from the Main Square in Old Town and the numerous shops, bars and restaurants.
We found the staff extremely friendly, helpful and professional and who spoke excellent English. I did find the bar staff a little dour, not unfriendly but not pleasant. My only slight complaint is we stayed in room 120 which was in the new part of the hotel, this was a bit of a trek to get to from the reception and involved climbing up and down numerous stairs, ok for the fit and healthy but not good for the old or unfit, especially if carrying cases.
People mentioned the trams which start early and finish late, we could hear them as we had the windows wide open, but to be perfectly honest you forget the noise after a while.
Would definately stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

My father was Polish, his sister was interred in Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps. We decided to take our son, daughter and their
families to see first hand what it was all about. We decided to base ourselves in Krakow, we were booked in to the Best Western Old Town, the staff were excellent, spoke very good English (putting us to shame!). The rooms were comfortable and the breakfasts were good. Excellent location just a short walk to the town centre or to the Old Jewish quarter of Kazimierz. Only a short journey to the concentration camps and the Royal Salt Mine at Wieliczka.

My partner and I wanted to visit the city and our travel agent suggested this Hotel. The location of the Hotel is perfect for visiting the touristy part of the city. Although it is located on a busy street with trams if you request a room at the back you will not be disturbed at night. We were there on a B & B basis and the breakfasts were lovely......don't expect a full English though......there was a selection of local meats, cheeses, bread, salads, cold pickled mushrooms!!, fruit, yogurts, cakes and cereals. We ate in the restauarant one night and weren't disappointed.....the food was excellent. We had room 223 situated in the Jazz part of the hotel. It was very brightly decorated, clean and well appointed although a little on the small side. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. If/when we return to Krakow we will definitely stay at this hotel again......just in a bigger room

Room Tip: At the back rooms are quieter and corner rooms a little on the small side..

Booked this hotel because of its location & all the positive reviews about it, on arrival we were upgraded to a room in the new "jazz" section it did not disappoint, very clean, big comfy beds, and a great shower, even tea/coffee making facilities provided in room. We booked two tours through the hotel the salt mines and the Auschwitz / Birkenau tour, both are incredible and are a must when visiting Poland just a little more expensive through the hotel but organised very well. If you want a nice meal try the Magnes Bistro just opposite the St Mary,s Basilica, the food is freshly cooked from the finest seasonal produce (we had the baguette with beef and vegetables it was the best baguette iv,e ever had, delicious!! all in all we had great time in this beautiful city.

Room Tip: rooms in the jazz section are very quiet.

Booked this hotel for my mother and friends. Despite written confirmation of my booking and contacting them a week before arriving, they were told upon arrival that there were no rooms available. Stressede and worried were packed back into a cab and sent across town. Unprofessional! Would book more reliable accommodation next time!

Dear Sir or Madam,

thank you for your opinion. It is correct, we change the hotel because of unexpected situatin in our hotel. We book the same standard hotel in the same localization, we also of course paid for the transfer by car. The Ladies were not stressed (I saw this situation), they were suprised, but there was not any problem. The overbooking in hotels is usual situation, it sometimes happens.
If there was any inconveniences of this - I am very sorry.

Spent 3 nights at this hotel whilst on a city break to Krakow. Taxi transfer from airport approx 25 mins was organised by hotel & very convenient. Perfect location approx 2-3 mins walk from main square which is filled with bars & restaurants. First impressions of hotel are v good, friendly & helpful welcome from reception staff on check in. This service was consistent throughout our stay. Room quite small but had everything we needed. Lovely comfortable warm bed & I am fussy! Our room was front facing on 4th floor & outside noise did not disturb us at all. Hotel is spotlessly clean in all areas. Breakfast had a good enough choice & was of a good standard. Went on Auschwitz trip organised by hotel which was a hassle free experience. Minibus picked us up from hotel & tour guide was excellent. Highly recommended. All food experiences were good, best meal we had was in Number 7 restaurant on main square. Well done & thank you, we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay here again & will recommend this hotel to my friends.
