We stayed here and found a gem.The hotel is situated at the heart of the city with lots of boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants.A few blacks fr. The Main Market Square and some of the Historic places in Cracovia. The hotel is clean with friendly staff and they served the best array of breakfast. It is truely a 4 star hotel.

Krakow,Poland surprised me with such a beautiful place and friendly people.we stayed at hotel pod roza.the hotel for me is almost perfect.friendly staff, clean room, bathroom and most inportantly the breakfast is deliciously serve hot and complete.i always looked forward waking up in the morning, only to be able to eat and start my day with a full breakfast that they serve.you'll find almost everything you want on the breakfast table.they will serve you hot coffee(you can drink as many as you can)and you'll have so many choices of how you want your egg to be prepared.i recomend the place bec.it is very close to the center.a 5mins walk to hardrock cafe.outside the hotel you'll find the shops, coffeeshops and restaurant.the only thing that i'm not a bit contented with the hotel is that the wifi connection isn't working inside the room but the rest is perfect.will definitely recomend the place and the hotel.

Very close to square. Rooms at the side or back are fairly quiet.
Service is good and breakfast excellent. In evening the restaurant seemed to be empty! Have stayed before and would stay again without any hesitation

We have just been in this hotel for 4 nights (2 adults and 2 kids) and we were really satisfied.
1) Wonderful position: in one of the main streets, full of shops and bars, leading from one of the old doors of the city to the main square.
2) Room: big, with TV, fridge, wonderful bathroom, clean, silent, comfortable beds
3) Staff: professional and at the same time very helpful and supporting
4) Breakfast: wide choice of food for breakfast, something can be ordered at the moment, so you are sure everything is prepared when required.

We highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here in May 2014 for 3 nights for a business trip. About a 20 minute cab ride from the airport, but right in the heart of old town. You'd never know this place was there if you walked down the street - it's well hidden behind an old iron gate and nondescript facade. The hotel is only a couple short blocks (2 min walk) from the main square, and the surrounding streets are lined with restaurants, shops, etc. Once inside, things "open up" to a traditional, spacious boutique hotel. The front desk staff was fluent in English, and very helpful, arranging several taxi rides during my stay. My room was very spacious, with high ceilings, floor to ceiling curtains, and nice marble floors and counters. The bathroom was also huge, with separate shower and soaking tub. My only complaint was that I was in an "interior" room, so my view was of the 1st floor roof, and not the surrounding city. I did not eat in the restaurant, so I can't comment on this part of the hotel.

Room Tip: Request an "exterior" room so you have some sort of view. Also, the elevator is old and s...

This is the second time we've stayed in this hotel and love it. It is right in the middle of Old Town Krakow and an easy walk to many restaurants, shops, and attractions. It is an old hotel that is filled with charm. Large, clean rooms and a very helpful staff. I asked for a complimentary breakfast, and they did this for me. The breakfast is just OK, but it's not much different from any other European breakfast. (They will fix omelets if you ask.)

Room Tip: I always ask for (and generally get) a room on a high floor, not close to the elevator, and a good v...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Pod Roza Hotel is the oldest hotel in Krakow. It is located between the Florianska Gate and the Main Square, in the heart of old town. The hotel is on the busy Royal Route, which leads millions of tourist straight to the Royal castle. Since the 17th century it has played host to numerous international luminaries. Tsar Alexander I of Russia, Grand Duke Constantine Romanov, Persian emissary to Napoleon Mohamed Riza, Franz Liszt, Honore de Balzac are amongt many eminent guests that stayed here. STET DOMUS HAEC, DONES FLUCTUS FORMICA MARINOS EBIBET ET TOTUM TESTUDO PERAMBULET ORBEM - Latin proverb, engraved at the entrance of the palace guarantees that nothing will change for the centuries to come: "May this house stay here until the ant drinks all of the sea water and the turtle ends its route around the world". Following its refurbishment this four-storey hotel, located in the former Renaissance palace of Prospero Provano, meets all the modern standards of hospitality. 57 Rooms are available, including seven suites. Each floor has a unique decor, from the stately and distinguished biedermeier style to the cosy contemporary arrangement. The colorful polychrome on the walls, historic tile stoves, woodblock floors, graceful stuccowork with the recurring rose motif testify to the hotelier tradition that has been nurtured throughout the centuries. Each guest room is equipped with air-conditioning, phone, complimentary high-speed Internet access, plasma TV and minibar. The bathrooms, featuring luxury Italian fittings and heated floors, are tiled with natural stone (granite, marble, basalt, mica). Two elegant restaurants are housed on the former courtyard under a glazed roof. Each has a unique style, decor and service. At weekends the food lovers are entertained by live piano music. ... more   less
