“A fantastic hotel!”

We stayed in Wentzl for a long weekend in July.
The hotel was beautiful and staff couldn't be more helpful.
Our room was specious and clean with complimentary robes and slippers, flat screen and a super king size bed.
Couldn't fault it in any way, would definitely go back.

What a perfect location to enjoy the sights and sounds of this beautiful city! With the market square at the front door, literally hundreds of restaurants and bars within 5 minutes walk, Wentzl has a location that's hard to beat.

Add to this 5 star rooms for a 4 star price (they'd be 5-star if they had a gym, but you'll do plenty of walking anyway), a breakfast buffet that was the best we've seen in Europe, and friendly, helpful staff.

Ask for a room facing the square, no problems with noise as the windows are double glazed.

Only small (18 rooms) so book early... 10 mins walk from station if you're arriving by train.

Stayed at Wentzl in July with my mum....Our second trip to this wonderful city but first stay at Wentzl....From the minute you walk in the door on arrival to the minute you depart you will fell welcome...The staff are so polite and helpful and try to help you in every way you can...The porter brought our bags to room and on day of leaving collected them from our room and left them in storage for us untill our taxi came that evening....Our airport was Krakow Direct and they were excellent and friendly.....We stayed in room 35 which had a FAB view of square, when windows are closed it was same as in the middle of the countryside and when you opened them the city came into your room...Rooms were well serviced every day and sheets changed half way through our stay...Bathroom was well stocked with towels ans accessoriesvery well stocked mini-bar in room and tea and coffee tray also....biscuits were on it for first few days however not for all stay....Water was also provided...still and sparkling, as we didi not drink sparkling we asked at desk to swap for two still waterd, thsi was done straight away and again the second night however it went back to one of each and on last night we were given two sparkling....minor but a fault still....We had dinner in hotel one night and was lovely.....Also went to Yummie, the steakhouse (left turn down from hotel) and Szar restraunt accross square which is lovely for a weekend treat....Wspanki (right turn and down street)has to be best for breakfast and a look in at decor alone is worth it....

If you want the sounds and the sights of the city from the comfort of your room whilst sipping a glass of wine or your favourite whisky this is the hotel for you! We stayed in room 25 which was traditional and beautiful in every way and the bed was so comfortable. Everything you needed was in your room, spotlessly clean with a very reasonably priced mini bar. The views and all the sounds of the market square from your window let you know that you are staying in a very special place. The sounds of Bugler, the bells, the clip clopping of the horses and people having fun make you not want to shut your windows! However, if you do shut them you don't hear a thing but we found we wanted to hear it all so left them open! Breakfasts at the Wentzl were an absolute delight. Fresh raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and many other fruits along with cheeses, meats, breads, cakes, many other things and a hot choice as well if you so desire. The staff were extremely polite, warm and friendly even to the point of mapping out a jogging route to enjoy a run around Krakow. Krakow is just stunning and the people lovely. You can't bet bored as there is so much to see. The Wentzl is a little bit more expensive but it is worth it and if you want the ultimate experience it is definitely the place to stay! We can't wait to return one day!

you're absolutely paying for the service, the location & gorgous surroundings were worth it.. Ae are a family of 5 (kids 9, 5, 2) we stayed in 2 separate rooms - 21 & 41 - totaling 4 nights.
Hotel is not easy to get to by car due to driving restrictions in the main square & GPS was not being helpful. We got lost & couldn't figure out where to go. When I called the hotel - a staff member literally walked over to where we were, got in car with us & directed us to where we could park., took care of our bags, took me to teh parking lot a little aways & made the stressful getting there completely go away.
Rooms were gorgous, it was not noisy at all when windows were closed, but frankly, we kept them open to take in the feel of the city. the appeal of this hotel is the location - you just have to experience the history, the ambiance...all!.
we switched rooms since we wanted a balcony onto the square, but in retrospect it was not necessary. You had to stand on the balcony to enjoy the main square view so it was no different then the window view of the 2nd floor (see picture of balcony next to us - same thing).
there was free internet use in the lobby, breakast was great, we didn't have problems with hot orders as others expressed - we had all great experiences there.

We arrived in Krakow early in the morning of July 3 after having taken the overnight train from Budapest. Naturally our room was not ready, but the staff took our luggage, pointed out the nearest currency exchange and what restaurants might be serving breakfast. They hustled us into a room by 10:30 a.m., and it was a beauty, overlooking the main square and St. Mary's cathedral. Everything was stylish and clean, and thankfully, the drapes blocked the early morning light as daylight tended to come early. Breakfast was wonderful, with some items available made to order. The staff arranged for our tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau where we were picked up at the hotel. There's free access to a computer on the ground floor, and all you have to do to get a good meal on the square is walk out the front door and take your pick of all the sidewalk cafes. We had to leave the hotel at 4:30 a.m. July 7 to catch an early flight, and the staff had lunch boxes prepared for us as we would miss breakfast. There was enough food for four people, and all of it good. The housekeeper noticed after the first night that we took the stuffing out of the duvets on the bed as we found them too hot and afterward left folded sheets for us as an alternative, for which we were profoundly grateful. All in all, the location, amenities, and attentive service can't be beat.

Although a little more pricey than most other hotels, this hotel has a truly fabulous location being the ONLY hotel located directly on the main square, Rynek Glowny. We didn't eat in their beautiful restaurant but had a fabulous selection at breakfast with hotel staff being extremely courteous and helpful. Would definately recommend a stay here, simply to open your bedroom windows to listen to the hustle bustle of the square below. Beautiful room (No. 31), looking forward to the next stay!
