“Good hotel, great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2011

Stayed here for four nights in June on a weekend break to Krakow. Very helpful staff, clean and comfortable. Not sure it's 5 star but definitely a 4 star. Krakow superb value. Don't use "See Krakow" to visit Auschwitz as they didn't give us the time there they said they would. Krakow is superb and this hotel is 5 min walk from main square. Superb. Would stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights from 10 - 14 July 2011 and I must say that everything was perfect.

The hotel staff were lovely and spoke good English. We arrived early - at 11am but our room was still ready for us which was great. We stayed in an Executive room overlooking the front courtyard and it was gorgeous. Dark wood furniture, a 6 foot bed with the most comfortable mattress and pillows that I've ever had in a hotel - so comfy I didn't want to go home! Air conditioning, flat screen TV (only 5 English channels) fridge/mini bar, complimentary tea/coffee and bottled water. Plenty of hanging space and drawers for clothes. Plus a safe and ironing board - all very useful. Best bit though was free internet in the room. Cable provided to use with your own laptop, which we loved (even on holiday it's hard to be away from your email!) Bathroom was clean and had bath & shower, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries.

The hotel is in a great location in a side street off the Planty gardens, only a 4 minute walk from the main old town square. As it's so central it means you can go back to the hotel for lunch, to freshen up or even a nap before continuing your sightseeing.

The only downside to this hotel is no swimming pool, hot tub or sauna, but this is typical of many city centre hotels. There is a gym although the amount of walking you do in Krakow is more than enough exercise. I didn't eat in the hotel (breakfast was 70 Zlotys = £18!) but there are plenty of places that you can go which are only a few minutes away for a fraction of the price. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: An Executive room is definitely worth the extra money

We recently returned from a 4 day break in Krakow. I chose Holiday Inn as it was our first time in Poland, and felt the reputation of such a hotel group gave a better chance of quality accommodation.
We weren't dissapointed, the hotel location was excellent, the lobby was clean welcoming and the staff superb. Breakfast was taken downstairs in the restaurant, and I must say every mornings meal was an absolute pleasure. The American buffet breakfast that came with our room was a joy. All food was to a high standard as expected, the staff couldn't do more to ensure the meal started our day with a smile.
We will be returning to Krakow in the future, and deffinately will be using Holiday Inn as our comfy base.

Room Tip: We had a standard room but on the 3rd floor which is excecutive level, and to us it was one of the q...

Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights at the end of June 2011. Partner has stayed in Holiday Inns in the past when he worked abroad but, in his opinion, this place was in a different league. Do take time to read the complimentary "Krakow in Your Pocket" booklet they give you at reception when you check in - I'm not usually into guide books but the contents of this one were fascinating and very helpful - Tips on everything from restaurants, things to see, excursions, traditions, laws etc e.g. Do not chance crossing a road when the red man is showing (even if there's no traffic) as this will attract an on the spot fine - even for tourists! We also picked up a free street map in the taxi - this too was invaluable throughout our stay. Anyway back to the hotel : - Great location, turning right out of the hotel, it's only approx 4-5 minutes easy walk into Rynek Glowny (the main square in Krakow where everything is happening). Turning left from the hotel and it's only a 15 minute walk to the old jewish quarter, Kazimierz . Rooms comfortable - only problem we had was that it did get a little warm during the night even with the aircon on full tilt. Breakfasts were self service with a good supply of hot and cold choices and a fantastic choice of teas - everything from Earl Gray, Assam, Peppermint, Rosehip, Green etc. Contrary to a previous review, I'd say, if you're from the UK, you'll find the bar prices very reasonable Rooms were serviced to a high standard every day Would not hesitate to return here.

The hotel advertises itself as a five star hotel but that is far from the truth. We were given a room in the old wing which was quite worn out and nothing special, I would barely give it a three star rating. Me and my wife were on our anniversary and were quite disappointed with the standard, advertising this hotel as a five star is simply lying to the customers!

I stayed with my wife at the Holiday Inn Krakow and one thing that distinguished the hotel from any other Holiday Inn was the helpful attitude of the staff and the friendliness of the front office manager who explained to me some benefits of my priority club membership of which I was unaware as a new member. The rooms were very well maintained, decent size and quiet. Unfortunately we never had a chance to use the restaurant so cannot really comment on that but I do wish we had some more channels on TV so that I could have followed Wimbledon live.

The hotel is centrally located and everything you want to do in Krakow is within walking distance. The hotel also arranged a tour to the salt mines which was with a small and select group and well managed. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and I would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone including business people, couples and families.

The Holiday Inn Krakow City Center is extremely well-located, which was an important factor when I chose the hotel, as I was travelling with an elderly relative.
The hotel itself is well-organised, clean and well-maintained.
My husband and I had a room on the second floor, my parents-in-law had a room on the ground floor. The ground floor rooms must be disabled-access rooms - it was much larger and had a bath, our room had a shower cubicle only.
Both rooms had fridges, tea and coffee-making facilities, flat-screen TVs and were very clean and comfortable.
My only issue with the hotel is that its bar prices were pretty expensive - even by UK standards! That was a shame, as it put us off coming back to the hotel for a drink or a cuppa.

Room Tip: For a bigger room, as for one on the ground floor.
