Owner description: Sizable Jewish population of Krakow moved to this district at the end of the fifteenth century, which served as the main cultural center of the Polish Jewry for centuries.

Got to the Schindler Factory or Auschwitz and then, when you return to Krakow, come here, eat a superb meal and drink a lot. The world isn't a perfect place perhaps but this will restore some of your faith in humanity.

This area is approx 20-25 minutes walk into Krakow centre, or 5 minutes by taxi which cost approx £3-4. Kazimierz is a step back into the 1930's, very traditional shops with a big Jewish presence. It reminds me of a well maintained old Eastern European town. Our hotel, Qubus, was situated here along the river and Schindler's factory is only an 8 minute walk away.

It really gives you a feeling of stepping back in time. The restaurants are fabulous and the whole area is so clean and tidy. Cobbles are a challenge though!!

Great bars and restaurants - but would give flea market a miss! Get fun free tours from the square here.
