Good things about this hotel: Close to everything, fantastic and helpful staff, rooms decent and clean.
Negative things: walls and doors thin as paper. If you have problems getting sleep, don't go here. But if you enjoy listening to what american young people in the neighbouring rooms talk about, then this is the place to be.

During our visit we had to change rooms from one facing the street to one facing the rear of the house. The noice from the street could be heard into the room so well we just might as well have been outside. The second room was a bit better, but the hotel was occupied with groups of young americans, who made sure we couldn't get a proper nights sleep anyway.

There also were strange changes in how breakfast was served, which caused a lot of irritarion.

The staff was great, doing their best to make sure our needs were met. Pitty they have to operate such a badly built house, they'd deserve a better hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room high up in the building and to the back of it.

The location is very close to the marked square.
The room was clean.
We were awoken during the whole night because of noise from the bars just few meters away.
Breakfast was a continuous waith for replacement foods.

I found this hotel because a friend who is a businessman in Katowice, Poland made the 'special' reservation for me.
The secret hidden inside the Hidden Jewel is Room 601.
It is a wonderful room on the 6th Floor. THE ONLY ROOM ON THE 6TH FLOOR!
For approximately 340 Zlotys, about $100 US, it is a large room with skylights for windows, a very beautiful modern bathroom with the most wonderful shower. (Needed badly after a full day of touring). The room comes with breakfast. The staff speak perfect English and are very polite, courteous and helpful. The hotel comes with Wi-Fi. It is located in the City Center area.
Next time I am in Krakow, I hope you aren't because I will be reserving this gem for my own use!

A very basic hotel but very clean and tidy. Very close to the main square.
Hotel only operates a bed & breakfast with no bar facilities while we were there. Although we had evening meals these were pre booked and were cooked off premises so you had to have what was served - As I ordered the meals I cannot really complain.
The staff were efficient rather than friendly; as I had to pay £300 up front for potential damages, I can only assume the Hotel as had bad experiences of school visits. (I advise all teachers to check every room and complete a "snag list" and present it to reception. We had many minor faults but one major fault, a badly broken sofa bed, which could've cost the £300).
We were mid week travellers leaving on the Friday morning so there was very little noise, that is until the Friday morning when the first stag revellers fell out of the nearby pub at 6.15am singing "Irish Rover" whilst pulling their cases on the cobbled street.
I still enjoyed the Classic and would use again especially for its location. However, I must state if, like us, you are travelling by coach the Hotel cannot be accessed by coach so you park at a different hotel and take your own luggage the 400 yards or so yourself.

Room Tip: Ifv you are staying the weekend avoid front facing rooms.

In November 2012 we stayed at the Hotel Classic, Poland as part of a two day trip organised with friends. The hotel is basic but ideal for someone just wanting low budget accommodation. The rooms were basic but clean. The breakfast is continental not english. Staff were helpful and polite. And the hotel is situated near to the centre square which makes it ideal for visiting nearby establishments shopping etc.All in all for the price a great hotel.
