LOVED this hotel! We both did, will def go back soon.
Staff were great, breakfast was typical european with some traditional hot polish foods. We had dinner also and was delicuous with massive portions.
Ciggarette really cheap if your a smoker works out at 2.40per pack.

MAKE SURE YOU DO THE SIGHTS. the cloth market in the old square is lovely an had some really fancy and quirky coffeshops. With horse and carts all over the place. Very piture-esq

Get the train from the airport only 8zlt per person compared to 70zl taxi.
Also don't waste time with taxis from hotel into city centre tram is 5 min walk or less if u wak fast to tram stop( facing tesco superstore)
You want to get tram number 19 only costs 3.5zlt which is like 60p. Hotel reception will tell you when you ask.

At first we thought the hotel was a bit out of the centre but with excellent service we received it was worth it. We found the reception staff were very friendly and would help us in any way they could. This followed through to other employees in the hotel which included the waiting staff at breakfast and the doorman.
We've stayed in many 5 star hotels and we think we received 5 star service at this hotel.
Its very close to Tesco hypermarket which was great for supplies of crackers and cheese and there is a tram stop nearby to go into the town.
Just remember to buy a ticket before you get on the tram, you get them from machines and local shops. First time we went on we didn't have a ticket and my husband only had a 50 ZL note and the driver just waved us on. Couple of stops later an inspector got on and told us we had to pay a fine of 72.50zl each. We weren't vey happy and after alot of discussion I think he got fed up with us and let us off.
From then on we made sure we had our 2.50zl tickets, so be warned.
We went on a Auschwitz tour with Krakow tours which was arranged through the hotel.
It was one of the best tours we have been on. Both Anna the escort on the coach and Agata the tour guide were both very helpful and informative.Agata (apologies if spelt wrong) was absolutely excellent on the tour and came across as very passionate about her work. We would thoroughly recommend going on this tour.

This hotel has a certain old world charm, whilst not being old fashioned or dowdy. The staff seemed to genuinely care about their guests. The service was outstanding. All the staff were extremely helpful and polite. The food in the restaurant was of a high standard, well presented and good value. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice offering hot and cold food. The rooms were spotlessly clean with sufficient space to feel comfortable and relaxed. In common with many european hotels there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, there was a mini bar.I felt that the staff would do everything they could to make your stay enjoyable and anything that was asked of them was never any trouble. Although this hotel was not in the centre of Krakow, it was an easy journey by tram into the centre and again the staff at the hotel were helpful in supplying this information. Staying at this hotel was well worth the slight inconvenience of jumping on a tram for about a 20 minute journey to the Market Square.

Hotel was great, very clean and quiet. Only real issue is that it is about 10 mintute drive from the old town (Market Square) which is the real attraction if you are visiting Krakow as a tourist. This was something I was aware of before booking so it wasn't a problem, just something to be aware of! Taxi cost to old town varies from 20 - 30 zlt (about £4.50 - £7.00) depending on the time. The best way to get into town is by the tram.... No. 19 from the tram stop a couple of minutes walk from the hotel (left out of the main entrance) you need to buy a ticket from either a news stand @ 2.5 zlt (about 60p) or from the driver of the tram with a slight surcharge @ 3 zlt (about 70p) once you have this ticket you must validate it on the tram using the orange machines mounted on the poles... this will then allow you to travel as far as you like on that tram line... takes about 10 minutes to get into the old town, usually much quicker than a taxi due to the traffic! Make sure you buy a ticket becuase the ticket inspectors are plain clothed and quite frequent...

The other method is the bus which is just on from the tram station... you want the 124 to get from this station to the city centre... we didn't use the bus but it was very regular!

Another plus for this hotel is that it is almost dead opposite to a massive 24 hour tesco super store! Which is handy...

We had breakfast included with out stay but it really isn't much... cereals, breads and cold meats etc... we preffered to get our own...

We didn't use the spa, we did use the swimming pool, jacuzzi and saunas... hotel claims to have 3 saunas but we only saw 2... they may have had another seperate one so dont take that as gospel... swimming pool was fine, very clean. Jacuzzi wasn't anything special... buttons on it were broken so didn't really work properly... overall it was fine though...

If i was to visit Krakow again I would book a hotel in the old town to save the hassle of getting back and forth, no other reason would stop me using the hotel... great value for money! They did try to get us to leave 2 days early but this was a simple clerical error... we were also charged a "local tax!" when we checked out... not sure what this was but it was only about £3-£4 so couldn't be bothered to question it...

Taxi to the aiport from this hotel is a set 80 zlt fare (about £17) we chose this option instead of the train (which we took from the airport on the way in) to the city centre for about £6 for the both of us, simply for peace of mind! Train back would probably have been fine (aim for the Balice stop if you take it from the main station)

We did visit the salt mines (booked via the hotel) be aware with this that this hotel in the first pickup so you'll spend about 1.5 hours driving around in a minibus around the old town picking up other customers.... you will then be transferred to a larger bus to get to the mines (about another 20 mins)... this was fine but coming back they sprung it on us (Krakow Tours) that they wouldn't be stopping off at our hotel and would be dropping us off at the old town centre which they did despite me questioning it... this meant getting a taxi back to the hotel at about 8pm... so additional cost... wasn't really an issue but we did think this could be a daunting if it was your first night there and hadn't got your bearings etc... didn't think this was on really. May be worth just getting a taxi to the salt mine and paying for a ticket in by yourself... would probably save about £20 for a couple... compared to paying upfront to the company via the hotel!

I would highly reccommend Krakow but my recommendation for a hotel would be to seek one in the old town itself but if the cost difference is substantial then no other reason to not book the Sympozjum. :)

Stayed for 2 days on leisure trip. Definitely wished I had checked more into this hotel before actually booking. Definitely did NOT live up to what appeared. It is quite far from the main train station, old towne center, and airport. Cost 30zloty by taxi from train station and 80zloty by taxi to airport. The reception area was nice but dated. The rooms are VERY dated and the beds are some of the worst I've endured in long time. The beds are smaller than a twin, the mattress is about 2in thick and there is one giant pillow. The bathroom was clean. The morning breakfast was quite varied with regional cuisine that ran out of items occasionally. Would not stay here again if possible.

Just back from a five day visit the hotel was spotless the food was excellent and the service was first class. All staff gave the impression that they were happy to see you and were always smiling. The Hotel was a 2 minute walk to the tram stop to the town centre that was a 10 minute journey. I can only say I have been to Venice and I found the Square in Krakow to be so much better, the street entertainment was varied and very well preformed. The café’s around the Square were amazing the prices were the same as any other café’s in the area. The Hotel also offered the trips for the same price as elsewhere which I found to be another bonus with a discount if you wanted more that one.

I would not hesitate to recommend the Sympozjum and Karkow to anyone who is looking for a very good holiday.

Can't wait to go back.

This hotel, while modern is a good quality hotel with good facilities. It is not within walking distance of the centre of Krakow.
