“Fab hotel in a great location”
Reviewed 22 July 2010

The Senacki is all you could want from a tourist hotel; fabulous location - just five minutes' walk from the main square - and friendly, helpful staff. Free Wifi in the lobby, too.

The breakfast was very good (and all included) and overall staying there was a pleasure.

Word of advice though - not all the rooms have air-conditioning, so if you're there in the summer ensure you book one which does - Krakow gets HOT! If you fancy a little bit of extra glam to your stay, ask to book room 101 or 201, both of which are suites. You pay the same rate for them as for any other.

We stayed at the Hotel Senacki for two nights and were very satisfied with the experience. The hotel is well located, close to both the Old Town and Wawel castle. It is clean and provides very good value for the rates charged. The staff are polite and helpful, and you generally get a sense of professionalism and quality as soon as you approach its very beautiful front facade. We were particularly impressed by the modern breakfast room, located in the cool cavernous cellar within the original foundations of the building.

If we had to find a fault (and only "if"), it would be with the room decour and furnishings, which are a little "tired looking" and could use a refresh. But all in all, this hotel is a great choice for anyone planning a trip to Krakow.

This hotel has a perfect location AND offers breakfast included in the price, all for a reasonable amount of money. The room is totally fine, not a suite or suitable for honeymooners, but more than good enough for everyone else. It lies in the heart of the old town with view to a beautiful old church. The staff was nice and polite, and frankly, I have nothing bad to say about this place. Go for it.

We travelled to Krakow with Escape2Poland and this hotel was booked through them due to the proximity to the main square (which is about a 2 minute walk away) and to the castle (2 minutes the other way).

Our room was on the second floor and was lovely, clean and we had plenty of room. We asked for a room in the back as we heard rooms in the front were slightly noisy on the weekend as they look straight onto the main street. However, many of those rooms look out on the lovely church across the road so it's really up to you.
The en suite shower room was also quite large and the shower was lovely and powerful which is lovely after a long day sightseeing.
The breakfast is served in the cellars and icludes cereal, bread, sausages, pastries, meats and cheeses. It was certainly more than enough for us.

Whilst there we went on a trip to Aushwitz, again using Escape2Poland, and went on a sightseeing tour via Krakow Bike Tours, both of which are highly recommended.
Our Polish driver also recommended we try the Miod i Vino Restaurant for traditonal Polish food and it was superb and very very reasonably priced! We also tried the Aqua e Vino restaurant which was also very very nice.

I stayed at the Hotel Senacki for 4 nights in March 2010 with my partner, parents, brother and his wife.

This was our third trip to Krakow for my partner and I but it was the first time at the Senacki. On our first trip to Krakow we stayed at the Qubus which is lovely but the location is not fantastic - it definately can't beat the Senacki. On our second stay we rented an apartment close to the centre which was nice but for me the luxuries of a hotel are always better. We would definitely return to the Senacki next time - no need to look anywhere else.

The location is fantastic - 5 minute walk to the Wave Castlel in one direction and a 5 minute walk to the main square in the other direction. The location could make this hotel on its own but all the other factors make it a great stay too.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the cleanliness of the hotel was superb and the breakfast was nice with an assortment of cereals, fruit, cheeses, cold meats, bread, pastries and yoghurts. The cellar where it is served is really nice.

Between the group we had three double rooms all on different floors. They were all very spacious, very clean (they were cleaned daily and towels were changed daily if required), a comfortable bed and an ensuite bathroom equipped with a good shower. We had an attic room which was a little bit bigger than the other two rooms and it had a sofa in there too. My brother and his wife had a room on the first floor with a balcony - that was a nice touch. All rooms had the little extras like a mini bar (not badly priced), TV, toiletries, hairdryer and other little extras which made the stay a little nicer.

We ate out in restaurants close to the hotel and off the square of an evening. We would definitely recommend the restaurant Pod Wawelem which is just opposite the castle. The atmosphere is great, the food portions are big, food delicious and they serve a litre of beer in the big steins. For a lighter meal (more moderate portion size) we would recommend the restaurant Il Florianska on Ul Florianska close to the Barbican.

We have previously done the excursion to Auschwitz and the salt mine which are both recommended. I have never felt the need to go back to either but do try to go on other excursions when we go. We went with my parent to the Tatra Mountains and Zakopane (used Cracow City Tours which were very good) and this was great. If you want something different where you can see a bit more of the Polish countryside, lots of wooden architecture, a great mountain range and just something special then i would recommend this. Zakopane is a ski resort in the winter and is a great base for hiking at other times of the year. We are thinking of booking a trip to this resort the next time we come to Poland - it's just lovely.

Finally just to say - go to Krakow it is a great city and Poland is a lovely country. If you're going to Krakow then I highly recommend a stay at the Hotel Senacki.

Just got back from a long weekend in Krakow. The Senacki is very centrally located just south of the main square in the Old Town, within easy walking distance of all the main sites. It's not super-posh but the hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast, which was included in the rate, was a good buffet - fresh fruit salad, juices, pastries, meat, cheese, sausages, choise of breads and eggs (cooked to order). Staff were friendly. Paid £45 a night for two of us.

Krakow is a great place to spend a long or short weekend - the castle and churches are superb and the bars and restaurants are great value for money. I'd recommend CK Bromar at Podwale 6-7 without hesitation. If you can face Auschwitz then definitely do it, it's a very moving, sobering experience but extremely worthwhile.

We were very pleased with the Hotel Senacki as it was idealy located for all the sights in Krakow. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were well appointed providing tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a full range of toiletries. The staff were all pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast was very good and hot food was provided on request. We visited in January and the street outside was quiet so we had no noise disturbance.
Krakow is a beautiful city to explore and a visit to Aushwitz is a must, and unforgettable. If you are looking for a good restaurant, the Pod Wawelem, at the end of the street near the castle can be recommended for typical Polish cuisine and an excellent atmosphere.
We used the services of Krakow Direct for airport transfers and tours (booked prior to our visit) and would recommend them as they were prompt, reasonable and the drivers were very informative.
If we visit Krakow in the future we will definately stay at the Senacki and we will recommend to others
