“nice short break”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

We spent longer weekend in Krakow and Secesja was a good choice, good value for the price we were able to spend. The room was quiet, but I really missed the electric kettle for coffee or tea in my room. We were offered coffee at the reception after arrival and perhaps they would have served again if we had asked, but I didn't feel asking again. I think 4* hotel should have it, same as they offered a fridge.
I didn't understand why the hotel charged tax for air-condition for each room as it did't work, at least I didn't mention that.
These two remarks are the only two that I found not completely satisfying.

Location of the hotel was great :close to the places we wanted to see like Wavel (do not miss Leonardo's Lady with an Ermine, that is in Wavel and not in a Museum of Czartoryski, as older tourist guides advertise) and Jewish synagogues and a cemetery, and restaurants with Jewish cuisine as it is located right in Jewish section Kazimierz. So we got everywhere to places of our interest walking, including Schiendler's factory. Our room was facing the street with a nice view on the Church on the Rock and Corpus Christi, quiet enough and comfortable.
We were offered to park our car in the yard of the hotel, that was cheaper than the parking place opposite the hotel, but as it was weekend we prefer to park in the street as it was free of charge since Friday 8pm. I guess during the working days parking in the hotel yard is the best option.
We enjoyed breakfast, rich enough with sweet and salty things (salami, cheese, ham) jogurt and coffee (not the best) but it was OK.
Thought there were little things I would improve to my full satisfaction (coffee maker amd air-condition) it was good value for the money we paid and I would recommend it and would come again.

The hotel offers very good value for money. The rooms have everything you need for a short stay and the hotel's location is excellent, in Kazimierz. The hotel is located in a quiet street, but the area with bar and restaurants is only 5-10 minutes away. It is possible to park the car free of charge outside on the street during weekends, during the week it won't be possible. Overall a very nice experience.

Stayed here for 5 nights in June Bed and Breakfast. We were on the first floor of the hotel and could hear a fair bit of noise from the street but that didn't bother us too much... The breakfast were a little repetitive but always plentiful. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and our room was serviced every day. The hotel was very quiet until the very last night, when a group were checked in, we realised how thin the walls were!!! The location of the property was fine but not central to most attractions. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and the staff were always friendly.

Room Tip: Try a room on a higher floor to prevent hearing noise from street below!

This hotel is a good value for money as it is centrally located. We also liked the parking possibilities, breakfast, free wi-fi, view and complimentary bottled water in room. It was also nice to check-in at our arrival - one hour before their check-in time. I was expecting an average hotel but still I was a bit dissapointed by the room and its and condition - it had seen better days. I also have to say it was not very clean - little stain on the pillow, greasy fingerprints on the window and hair in the bathoom (the floor was apparently wiped after previous guests but not properly). As our room was facing the street I was woken by the street noise in the morning. It was pretty quiet during the night though. After all I have to say I would try to find another place to stay next time but still might come back here as it was really cheap and very conveniently located.

On arrival we were given room 603 at the top of the hotel-really not very good - tiny, small window in the eaves you had to crawl to in order to look out and the double bed pushed against the wall so you had to climb over it to get in, no room for bedside tables, bathroom with a very small sink and no where to put anything apart from the floor. We complained, we couldn't be moved on the first night but to be fair we were moved on the second day to 405,twice as big, great views and very comfortable.
Apart from our issue with the room everything went really well. The staff were very helpful, the breakfasts were fine and the hotel is in a great position; everything you want to see in the wonderful city is within walking distance. There are numerous restaurants within a few minutes offering cheap and tasty food, the river is five minutes away in one direction, the old town a comfortable 15 minutes stroll in the other. Free tea/ coffee is a real bonus. There is a small raised seating area where we met friends for a coffee or just read our book.
The hotel were very efficient in organising a taxi to pick us up from the airport, 90 zloty (around £20) for the 25minute ride for four of us. The taxis are efficient is you want to go further afield - Nowa Huta-is an experience not to be missed. Schindler's factory is one of the best museums I have ever been to, do go, give yourself several hours. Aushwitz has to be visited. There are numerous tourist information places in town who will organise a pick up from the hotel for 100 zloty. Loved Krakow, we will definitely be back

Room Tip: Don't have 603 unless you want a dark tiny room
