We have just arrived back from a 3 night stay at Hotel Wielopole and I am happy to report that everything I read prior to booking the hotel is true - this hotel truly is a gem. The rooms are spacious and warm, with ultra comfortable beds and lovely warm duvets. There was always plenty of hot water for showers which were welcome after coming in from a long day sightseeing in the cold.

The hotel is conveniently located about a 2 minute walk from the main square which is where you will find restaurants catering to all tastes and bars that stay open all night. Also great was the breakfast - plenty of choice ranging from cereals, salads (!), cold meats and cheeses to eggs, toast, and sausages. The buffet was replenished regularly and swiftly.

We were given the option of booking excursions via the hotel but I had pre-booked them with a great guy called Bob after reading a number of glowing recommendations for him on Trlip Advisor - google him, you won't regret it. His vast knowledge enhanced our trip to Auschwitz and he's very reasonably priced and reliable.

We had a fantastic few days in Krakow and I wouldn't hesitate to come back to Hotel Wielopole. My only complaint is that we weren't given any milk for the tea / coffee supplied in our rooms. We did request it from Reception but were told they didn't have any. Strange considering it was served daily with breakfast!

My partner & i stayed at the Hotel Wielopole for 3 nights at the start of November. We were initially drawn to this accommodation due to the very reasonable price, so weren't expecting too much. Well...we were more than pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The rooms were very modern & kept to a high standard. They were quite snug, but this wasn't a problem as you don't tend to spend lots of time in there.
The staff were extremely helpful & spoke nearly perfect English & they were always on hand to offer their local knowledge.
The location was ideal, about a 5-10 minute walk away friom the main square & all the ammenities,
I can't really criticise anything about the hotel itself, however please note, breakfast here & apparantly in many other hotel's in Krakow is not necessarily what the bristish palate is use to. The food was absolutely adequate, there was ample selections of salads, bread & cheese's, & we could always find something to eat, but it probably wasn't our favourite meal of the day. That said we were there to experience Poland, so why not embrace what they may traditionally eat for breakfast eh! All in all we had a very enjoyable stay.

Thank you Hotel Wielopole

The hotel was very well situated for the centre of Krakow and excursions were easily arranged via the hotel. If prefered public transport was close by making it easy to get to all areas.

Short walk to hotel from train station as well as from the action of the old town. Good buffet breakfast. Arrived early from train station, and offered the buffet breakfast until our room was ready. When we left early for our next train trip, they had a couple boxes of food ready for us to take with us. Treated us very well. It was noisy outside and had to keep the window closed. Try for a room off the street.
