This hotel is small, but well maintained. The staff, was very helpful, polite and professional at the same time. The room was very good, and I could not hear any noise from the outside. It is within easy walking distance of "Old town" and the train station. They served a excellent breakfast, and the resturant is open for both lunch and dinner. I would stay here again.

Just got back from this hotel. Great location just 5 minutes to the main square which is the best place to start your stay and get your bearings. Receptions staff very friendly and their english superb always helpful showing the best way to get to places on your map. Rooms very clean and the bathroom a good size. Our room was at the front and also had a small balcony which made a nice change. Breakfast served from 7.30 to 11.00 every day and the choice of foods very good. Ceareal, watermelon and slices of orange. A mixture of cheeses, meats, a fish dish, tomatoes, cucumber to go with rolls and bread. There was also a toaster for use. The hot side was frankfurter sausages, scrambled eggs and pancakes. If you got chance during your stay to get back to the hotel in the afternoon there was often biscuits set out reception for you to help yourselves to. Overall this was an excellent hotel and a great place to stay and discover krakow. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Wielopole for 4 nights at the end of September 2008. There were 6 of us in the group so we had 3 rooms. The rooms were all spotlessly clean and had been renovated recently (new furnishings, etc)

Two of the rooms were small, even small for European standards but certainly serviceable. One of the rooms was a little larger which made it the place that we organized ourselves before departing each morning. One of the members of our group said that they heard people outside one night (we were there over the course of a weekend) but I'm a pretty light sleeper and I didn't hear them.

The location of this hotel is perfect; it's a half a block from the Planty which is the linear park that surrounds the Old Town. It's literally a 5 minute walk to the main square. Maybe a 15 minute walk to Kazimierz. If you're coming into town by train, it's probably a little longer of a walk than you'd like to do with a suitcase.

Breakfast was very good with a large number of choices. There were some hot eggs and crepes but they weren't the best. Stick to the breads, meats and cheese

The front desk staff spoke extremely good English. They didn't go out of their way to try to offer up suggestions on things to do or places to eat, but if you asked them a question they did their best to give you good advice.

There's no Wi-Fi in the hotel and the computer in the lobby charges by the minute so that would be the only thing I'd like to see improved.

Without a doubt, if I'm ever back in Krakow, I will stay here again

Stayed here on my own during the start of August. Great location with only a 5min walk to the main square and conveniently located across the road from holiday inn where moist day tours do pick ups from. Very helpful and friendly staff and great laundry service. Room was always very clean and comfy. Would definitely recommend this place, and would stay there again next time I'm in Krakow.

I went to Krakow by myself for three days mid-August 2008. The first two nights, I stayed across the street at the Holiday Inn which was nice but became expensive so I booked across the street at the Weilopole for the third night. The room was small but serviceable. The view out the window was of some dilapidated buildings but, hey, it's Poland.
The bathroom was again, small but serviceable. Mind you, this was a single room booked through Expedia (I always get the feeling that hotels give Expedia bookings the bottom of the barrel due to the steep discounted rate). Anyways, the hotel was fine for a solo traveler, was clean and the front desk staff was quite friendly and spoke English well. Free internet was great. The included breakfast was great and the location to the central square was great. Would I book a honeymoon here? Probably not but if I go back to Krakow with friends, family or solo, sure I'd stay here again.

Stayed for four nights August 2008. Booked directly, staff replied to emails quickly and in English, arranged for us to be collected at airport [80 zloty] which made arrival stress free. Hotel receptionists are best ever come across - nothing too much trouble, polite, fluent English. Room was at front on first floor. Small but very clean. No kettle but you can ask for one. Street very noisy in early hours - Brits/Irish all drunk and swearing - had to keep windows closed or not sleep. May be better to ask for room at back but then view is quite miserable - very bleak looking courtyard. Breakfast OK, plenty of it but have had better. Didn't eat there any other time because there are just so many nicer places in the town. Krakow is a wonderful city - like Prague but, in our opinion, 100 times nicer. Wonderful food, excellent beer, interesting tours, lovely people and cheap!! Won't be surprised if it becomes the "stag party" capital of Europe before too long. Watch out for the traffic though - guess there are some rules of the road but seems to be - see a space and go. If you do nothing else visit Auschwitz-Birkenau. All I would say is that if you go on a tour you may find that you didn't have as much time there as you would have liked. Birkenau is somewhere you may feel that you need time just to try and take in the enormity of what happened there.
