This was a good choice for Krakow and very convenient. The rooms were nice, though the view out the north side was simply the facade of a shopping mall. Fortunately, I did not spend a lot of time "enjoying" that view. Service was just OK, but certainly acceptable. The train station is right across a broad square to the east and very convenient. The Barbicon at the north end of the old town is only a block or two away and the tram stops right in front of the hotel. You cannot really ask for a more convenient location.

Breakfast was also "OK" ... not as much selection as I might have liked, but egg dishes were cooked to order. Do not get the "normal" coffee, though ... ask for an espresso (which they will insist on getting for you even though it comes from a self-service machine). Don't say I didn't warn you about the regular stuff.

The only real complaint I have was with the internet service ... it was free, but worked only intermittently. I had to keep logging back into the system.

Room Tip: Ask for a view toward the train station.

Stayed here over Easter and had a great time. Hotel is very central right opposite the main railway station and only 5 mins walk to the main square. Staff are very friendly and are very informative. Breakfast was lovely. Rooms were very modern and clean. When I return to Krakow again I will definitely stay here and will recommend to others.

Just back from a 4 night stay in the Andels, great location with Bus Depot/Train Station situated behind the Hotel with a large modern Shopping Centre beside it.Staff very polite & friendly with a modern Bar/restaurant area.Rooms spotless equipped with a safe & Mini Bar.
Its about 7-8 minute walk to the Old Town square.Having seen many of the other Town Centre Hotels during our stay, I must admit the Andels looked so much more modern & stylish than them! Highly recommended.......

Room Tip: Varied Breakfast ,served up til 11 am each morning

My son (aged 24) and I took a 3-day break in Krakow to visit the local historic sites and have a few beers. We stayed in Ander's Hotel and the entire stay was very enjoyable. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. As our schedule was tight the reception staff arranged our tours, recommended restaurants, provided local maps and were very knowledgeable about local events.
The hotel restaurant was excellent - there was a big choice for breakfast which ranged from full cooked to continental. The rooms were very clean, modern and quiet. Tea/coffee facilities were provided. We used the hotel bar and it was fine.
I suggest that all visitor documents should be typed in font size 12. In Krakow (not just the hotel) they tend to use a very small font size and it's nearly impossible to read without glasses. It can be inconvenient if you don’t have your reading glasses with you.

My wife and I and some friends stayed at Andel's for two nights in separate rooms and we all thoroughly were impressed with everything about the place. We have more friends coming to visit us in June and we will stay there again.

The location is directly across the plaza from the train station and a huge shopping mall. It's also only a 7 minute stroll from the hotel to the "Old Town" city center, which is full of attractions, restaurants, bars, and shopping. The beauty of it all is that although you're near everything the hotel is peaceful and quiet....

The service was fantastic!! Every member of the staff we met was genuinely friendly and most of them spoke very good English. Every question we had was met with enthusiasm and a sincere concern to accommodate our requests; anything from tours to "Where is a good place to listen to live music". The front desk will handle everything you ask of them and smile while doing it!! Gotta love it!!

A large buffet style breakfast comes standard with the price of the room. The food was very good and the selection should satisfy most palates. The staff here was also very friendly and accommodating.

The bar is very well stocked, the bartenders extremely friendly and accommodating and if you want you can sit outside under umbrellas and enjoy your food and beverages. It's a great place for people watching since it overlooks the plaza. And as a surpirse.....the prices are very reasonable.

We stayed in standard rooms with king size beds. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are extremely clean and there is a safe and mini-bar. The bathroom will surely surprise you; glass enclosed shower, glass enclosed toilet, heated floor and a large, deep bath tub. Very nice indeed!!

The hotel offers great transportation for tours; we took the Auschwitz/Birkenau trip. For approximately $125 total (this was for 4 people and included a generous tip - however, I believe the cost is standard regardless of how many people go) we were met in the lobby, escorted to a nice Mercedes and watched a film in the car about Auschwitz (yes, it has a DVD player) while we took the pleasant 1.5 hour trip. Once we arrived at Auschwitz, the driver escorted us into the ticketing area, arranged for us to get tickets for the English speaking guide (tour cost extra - about $15/person, but well worth it) and provided clear instructions on where to meet him after the tour (approximately 2 hours). After the tour we met him as instructed and he then drove us over to Birkenau (10 minutes). After Birkenau, we met up and had a very pleasant return journey to the hotel. The hotel offers several tour options to many locations at very reasonable prices.

The morning we checked out the hotel stored our luggage (free) for the entire day while we explored the city. If you're pressed for time I recommend you take one of the "golf cart" tours. We did and we saw more in four hours than we thought was imaginable....this included plenty of time to walk inside the beautiful Churches/Cathedrals, take pictures, stop and have ice cream and get a great sense of the history and beauty of Krakow.

Hint - all museums are closed on the first Monday of every month so try to plan accordingly...we didn't know that and missed a few items.

Hint - Go to Wawel Castle and walk around and at least go into its Cathedral....it's awesome...and it's free. Unfortunately, the paid museums were closed, but I peeked into the armory museum...gotta see that next time!!

Hint - try to climb the 240 steps, steep steps mind you, to the top of St Mary's Cathedral and meet the buglar (you'll understand once you're in Krakow or just Google it). You can get some great pics from up there and it's a great experience.

Hint - constantly stop and look up at the tops of buildings to see great architecture and gargoyle heads.

Krakow is an extremely beautiful city steeped in history and full of beautiful places to see and Andel's is a great place to base yourself.

Enjoy!!!

I recently stayed at the Andel's Krakow for five nights. As other have menitoned, the hotel is located in the square directly across from the Central Railway Station and adjacent to the Galleria Shopping Mall. The Old Town is an easy 10 minute walk from the hotel and public transport is located just outside the hotel. The hotel is modern and contemporary and seemed to be staffed by mostly early 20 something young people that were friendly, helpful, and who spoke English well.

I arrived around noon and was informed by the front office staff that my room would not be ready for a few hours due to many late checkouts that morning. A staff member offered to store my bag in the hotel's luggage room and provided me with a couple of complimentary beverage vouchers for use in the hotel bar. I had lunch in the adjacent shopping mall (believe it or not there are some good restaurants at the mall) and returned a few hours later to check in. Check in was handled promptly and I was assigned a room overlooking the shopping mall square. With the windows open, it was a bit noisy during the day and evening with all of the people coming and going, but with the windows closed the room was very quiet.

The decor, furnishings, and fixtures in the room were ultra modern, contemporary, and welcoming. Both the room and bathroom were immaculately clean. The sheets on the bed were clean and crisp and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a separate bathtub and shower and a variety of bathroom amenities were provided.

The room had a nice, large, LCD television with a variety of programming that included several English language options. I believe the room also had WiFi. I don't recall if there was a charge for WiFi access. There are two computers with Internet access available for guest use in the lobby, free of charge.

My room rate included breakfast in the hotel's restaurant. The wonderful buffet breakfast included an extensive selection of hot and cold foods, fresh fruit, yogart, cereals, breads and pastries, and a variety of juices in addition to coffee and tea. Even during the height of the breakfast hour I never had to wait for a table. The restaurant staff were welcoming, pleasant, and efficient in cycling guests through the breakfast period.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Andels Krakow and highly recommend this hotel for its solid hard product, friendly / helpful / and efficient staff, and its good location.

GETTING THERE

If you arrive by train, depending on which underground passage you take from the railway platforms, you will either exit via the shopping mall or up a ramp towards the main reception / ticketing hall. If you exit via the shopping mall, take the escalator up one level to the ground level and turn right. When you exit the shopping mall the hotel will be directly in front of you. If you exit via the ramp to the main railway station hall, the hotel will be to your right across the square.

If you arrive by air, there is a train that takes you from the airport directly to the Krakow Central Railway Station. Upon arrival, follow the directions described above.

LAUNDRY

If you have the need to do laundry while you are in Krakow, I highly recommend the Frania Cafe / Laundromat located at Starowisla 26 which is only a short tram ride from the hotel. Trams 1,7,13,19, and 24 will get you there from the hotel. Disembark at the Starowisla tram stop. From the tram stop, the laundromat is located across the interesection on the left and down the stairs in the basement. There is no need to bring a pocketful of coins as the cost of washing / drying is a fixed price. I did two loads of laundry for approximately US$12. While waiting for my laundry, I relaxed in the cafe portion of the laundromat which offers a small bar and free WiFi. More information may be found here: [---]

A great place to stay,it's in the square right opposite the train station, which is easy if you travel into the city by train from the aiport. It's then only about a 5-10 minute walk to the centre.
We booked a hotel driver to take us on the Auschwitz trip, which worked ot more expensive than through one of the orgainsed tours, but it was well worth it in our opinion,it worked out at around £40 each for two of us,but if there were 3 or 4 of you it would be less as you pay for the car not per person.
Should we ever return to Krakow(possible as it's a lovely city) we would definitley stay at the Andels again.
