After reading reviews from Trip Advisor, I decided to book this hotel. Fab location only 2 mins walk from the train station which takes you to and from the airport. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were great. 10 mins walk will take you to the main square with lots of lovely bars and restaurants along the way. I would thoroughly recommend staying in this hotel and look forward to visiting other hotels in the same group.

Even after reading many of the congratularly reviews on Tripadvisor before my visit, I was surprised by the high standard of Andel's. I have certainly stayed in far less impressive 5* hotels, never mind 4*.

Highlights for me were having a superbly clean and well-equipped bathroom (the walk in shower on 'rain' setting with the dead sea salt shower gel is something i'd highly recommend, if you can tear yourself away from the deep bath). A large plasma television (with speakers into the bathroom) and FREE wireless internet were also big boons for me.

I felt the breakfast was of an excellent standard - freshly baked bread, salmon, herring, meats, cheeses and fresh pastries were all top quality. Meanwhile, the breakfast area was spacious, perfectly kept, well-staffed, with a lovely view of the square. Printed-out copies of English newspapers also impressed. This quality is representative of the whole experience I had with the hotel, at a very reasonable price.

Incidentally, Cracow is one of my favourite cities to visit in Europe - and combined with a couple of days in Zakopane (Polish mountains) represents a perfect short break in my mind.

We stayed at this hotel after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed by the accuracy of the comments. We upgraded to an executive suite at 30 euros per night but in my opinion it's not worth it. The Hotel itself is ultra modern and well located to the new shopping centre, which is less than 100 metres to the front door. The shopping centre is by far the biggest I have been in apart from the U.S and is a shoppers paradise with a number of designer shops. The room we had was small and compact but had everything except drawer space - not a criticism just an observation. The bathroom had underfloor heating and a walk in shower. One of the best I have seen.
The price of drinks in the hotel was reasonable when you compare to what you pay in the UK. We did not eat in the hotel but other guests we met were very impressed with the quality and presentation of the food , albeit they did say it was slightly expensive. Staff very attentive and polite. The breakfast was first class with bacon, eggs and sausage on offer. A good start to the day. We visited Auschwitz which is a must. This was our first visit to Krakow and it was a fantastic weekend. Lets face it, its a great start to your city break when the hotel is spotlessly clean and everything you need is on your doorstep. I would have no hesitation in recommending Andels. Please feel free to e mail me if you have any questions regarding Krakow,Andels Hotel or Auschwitz

We totally agree with all the other top scorers below. An excellent hotel which only opened in June 07, so still in spotless condition with latest design bathrooms plus the best hotel beds we have ever slept in - my boyfriend also thought the two duvets on the double bed were great - no more bickering over who hogs the duvet!
The location is perfect - a pleasant view over a square (see photo) was had from our room and although the hotel is only a hundred yards from the train station, there's no train noise. Having seen the location of the hotels in the centre of the old town, we were relieved not to have to drag our suitcases over the cobbles - something worth bearing in mind when weighing up this hotel against those around the Main Square. Without bags however, the centre is a very easy pleasant walk across the "Planty" park , past the Florian Gate and down a cobbled street. We were lucky enough to be there when they'd had a foot or so of snow and the Planty as well as all the old buildings and monuments looked beautiful. Very atmospheric.
The train from airport to Krakow station is also new and good value - on the way in to town we paid 24zl (£5) for the 2 of us, although on the way back to the airport it was 16zl for 2 (£3.50ish) - not sure why the discrepancy!
We booked direct with the hotel as we found they were offering a 2 night Romantic Package at 248 Euros, when their standard room was 124 Euros per night B&B (£80ish) so it seemed silly not to! The Package included a 3 course dinner in the hotel restaurant, bottle of sparkling wine, rose petals on the bed and in the bathroom (see photo) (our maid must have been trained in the Maldives in flower design!), and aroma candles in both bedroom and bathroom - really romantic once we'd hunted down the matches! However we noted that Easyjet hotels offered a standard room at a slightly cheaper rate if you aren't in the mood for romance!
Breakfast was excellent - big choice of cold meats and cheeses and even smoked salmon, plus salads, fruits, cereals, pastries and then bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, mushroom/tomato dish and boiled eggs, plus pancakes with various toppings. Bread was lovely too.
We dined in the restaurant and enjoyed the meal overall. It was great value as part of the Package (would normally have cost £50 for 2 inc sparkling wine) although we did find the menu a bit over ambitious - eg fruit with all savoury dishes wouldn't suit some people. The complimentary salmon mousse appetiser was lovely though! Overall the restaurant itself lacks a bit of atmosphere in the evening as it's quite large and a bit sterile for our taste. Candles on the tables would have helped and they didn't get much custom other than those on the same deal as us! We found plenty of good places to eat and drink in the town.
The only downside to our stay was that all flights on Tuesday when we were due to fly back in the evening were cancelled due to thick fog, but Easyjet let us check in and get to the gate before announcing this. We then had to retrieve bags off the carousel and go back out to the mini Easyjet kiosk manned with just 2 staff to deal with the rebooking of all passengers from the 8 Easyjet cancelled flights of the day. Not fun and we spent nearly 3hrs queueing before getting rebooked on the Weds night flight. The only good thing was being able to check back in for an extra night at Andels afterwards!!
Overall a great hotel and lovely city for a short break.

Having stayed at the Andels in Prague many a time, as soon as I found out that there was an Andels in Krakow there were no other hotels in the running.

The hotel is located in a newly regenerated part of Krakow City Centre, ten minutes walk to the north of the main square and tourist areas. The whole hotel is spotless (still smells new), and the rooms are fantastic. Very modern with excellent bathrooms with shower and separate bath. We had a room facing the street and were not bothered with noise at all - we slept soundlessly in their extremely comfortable beds. One of the things I love about Andels is their separate duvets for each side of the bed - fantastic. It's worth shopping around on the internet for the best prices too. I found £100 difference for three nights between the website I usually use and an alternative.

The hotel staff are very friendly (as were all of the Polish people we encountered), and the breakfasts were of a good quality. Not masses and masses of choice, but plenty to keep us happy. The hotel bar was very nice and relaxing too, but expensive by Polish standards (but not English!). We've just returned, and it was very, very cold whilst we were there. Take layers!!! There are lots of nice bars and restaurants to get a warm and a nice glass of polish beer. The food was of a high standard too - there are some very cheap places to go if you wonder a little away from the main tourist areas.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody and I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Krakow.

Just got back from a 3 nite stay in Andels Krakow. The hotel is very classy and very central. The station to and from Balice airport is a few yards away from the hotel. The train goes every 15 mins at peak times and only takes 15 mins and is very cheap.

The hotel is right next door to a large shopping centre, prices comparable with home and lots of the same shops...good excuse to get out of the cold !!

The hotel itself was fab ,the decor is beautiful. The check in was swift and our room was lovely...see the pics on the hotel website.
The bathroom was out of this world. We had a really large comfy bed , large TV and DVD player, mini bar, tea coffee making facilties, room service, hair dryer etc. Breakfast is up to 11am and there was a great selection of hot and cold food. ( I forgot smoking is still permitted in Poland....but you can get a non smoking table.)
Oscars the hotel bar is really trendy....the hot wine went down a treat after being out in the cold.
The hotel is a ten minute stroll from the main square, there are loads of restaurants and bars, but you have to explore a little as the they are not obvious from the main street. There is a market in the main square , if you like amber then you will be spoilt for choice. You can't get lost and can easily walk and explore the city see the castle , walk along the river. We explored the Jewish quarter and found a really quaint cafe called Ariel...it was like stepping back in time with lots of beautiful jewish paintings and hot wine !!

Booked a trip to Auschwitz...very very humbling, well worth a visit, you can book a trip from your hotel or you can diy it.

All in all a very enjoyable trip....flights and hotel cost us £ 120 each...bargain. would definitely recommend Krakow and Andels you will not be disappointed. The Polish people are very welcoming.....thanks for a nice stay Andels.
