Stayed in Hotel Monika for 3 nights during a trip to Krakow. The hotel is located 20 min + walk from Krakow main centre, but directly opposite the university.
The cost was £150 for 3 sharing a room for 3 nights including breakfast. (Breakfast was basic and included ham and cheese for sandwiches. Cereals were available.)
The Hotel offers a Polish feel which is great in Poland! It is not a commercialised property that has carbon copy rooms and it offers a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are really helpful and speak enough English to provide help if / when needed.
The rooms are: basic but clean, beds are hard but this could be to your liking and there is plenty of plug sockets.
The bathroom is dated but has a powerful and hot shower.
I personally had no quibbles for the money I paid for my stay however I can see some people struggling here.
There is no lift and quite a lot of stairs if on a higher floor. Outside there is a small courtyard to the rear and a large carpark to the front. To the side there is a main road which can be noisy if windows are open.More
