“A beautiful hostel with lovely decor”
Reviewed 22 November 2011

I stayed at this hostel in a private double room with a friend. The decor of the hostel is simply amazing. It is Art Deco style and the rooms had very beautiful furnishing and lovely colored curtains...very beautifully designed.

The Hostel has a very comfortable TV room which is common for all. It has three computers where you can check internet for free..

A simple breakfast with Sandwich, cereal, tea or coffee is served in the simple Dining room-kitchen which is a very good place for meeting other travellers. The Dining room is designed in such a way that you will definitely end up talking to other travellers and share information.

There is no lift in the hotel and our room was on the third floor.. so if you are not fit ask for a room in the lower floors;

The toilets are shared and it was kept very clean. Every floor has atleast two toilets and showers.

The Hostel is about 20-25minutes walk to the old town. There is a tram stop about five minutes walk from the front door.... we walked it most of the times....

I would definitely stay in this hostel again. The Staff were very efficient and friendly.

Airport bus drops you off a block away from the hostel, so handy if you are on a budget and don't want to get a taxi. Rooms are a delight, definite wow there. We shared bathrooms which were spotless and the water was toasty at all times of day. We had no problems with noise at all. Breakfast was tasty (loved the muesli) and the free roll was an added bonus (these were delicious as well). Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional.

The bus station is about 15mins away along the road, if you are travelling to Aushwitz (Oswiecim) you can get the bus a block down the road - but if you want to get a seat you are best going to the bus station.

Lovely hostel, beautiful rooms, very impressed.

This hostel certainly has no shortage of positive reviews, and it earns every one. From the super helpful front desk staff, to the friendly open common rooms, to the breakfast with free lunch sandwiches provide to finally the amazing themed rooms, this hostel really has everything you'd want. A couple of tips - getting there is a bit confusing the first time from the train station, save yourself the effort and get a taxi, it's really very cheap. There is no lift (to be expected) so carrying your bags up the stairs is one of the chores of staying here. Lastly, we stayed in Lucy (If I remember correctly) and it had a frosted glassed front door, no issues with privacy, but in the evenings if hall lights were turned on and not turned off (damn you people in the opposite room!!!) it'd wake you up and light the room up. I think the hostel should consider changing the frosted glass to regular old door. But really, if you go to Krakow and don't stay here, don't go to Krakow.

Deco Hostel not only has great rooms with really comfortable beds, but really great help. The receptionist was really helpful in finding ways to get to and from Auschwitz and the Wieliczka Mines. The bus station to these places is right down the street and the center is not far either. If you're looking for a quiet place for a good price and still not too far from everything Deco Hostel is the place to stay.

The Deco Hostel is a very cozy and friendly place, with friendly and helpful employees. It is placed close to the center of Krakow and it is very accessible! The rooms are beautifully decorated, very comfortable and tidy. The hostel has a common kitchen with all the appliances you may need, a common room and also two computers with free internet access at all times :D What I loved about this hostel was that it had a special theme, the Art Deco era and the personalities that represented it, and each room was personalised. Also, the employees were young, cheerful and talkative. In other words, in the Deco hostel is a place in which you can really feel at home!

Room Tip: One of the best rooms was Lulu, at the top floor, it had a private bathroom and was very spacious.

I highly recommend this hostel. I stayed in a double bed room for 2 persons with a friend and we are 2 female. The reception staff welcomed us with a respect and very polite attitude. At first this impressed us. Secondly, the room we stayed was super decorated! Totally french bell epoque style, it was not totally new but well managed and graceful. The shared bathrooms were also clean even there were many people staying on our floor, but the staff keep them clean always. I do appreciate that they washed my clothes for free! Nice breakfast, a big sandwich and cornflake! The kitchen was also clean and nice. The price was not expensive at all!!! Plus you can find fresh vegitables and fruits at a marcket near there! The Best hostel I stayed ever in my life!!!

The hostel is very nice, the rooms are really big and nicely decorated and the staff is really friendly and speaks good English.
Breakfast is also included as well as a washing machine.
The beds are really comfortable.
The location is also good, it's like a 10 minute walk to the center of Krakow.
I can't wait to go back there, loved it!!

Room Tip: Room Coco is where I stayed.
