“Can't beat the location”
Reviewed 2 June 2013 via mobile

Hotel Stary is situated only steps from the old town square. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and very large. We had a jacuzzi tub that was very nice after a day of walking. The hotel arranged for us a car service to and from the airport and they were very prompt. We would stay here again if we make it back to Krakow. Make sure to check out all the history of Krakow as well as Auschwitz (and the salt mines). It will give you a true appreciation of World War II.

We stayed in the best room (Luxury Suite) as part of are honeymoon but couldn't help feeling a bit out of place. Doing a tour of a number of countries we had rucksacks and dressed to be comfortable although smart yet it seemed liked we recieved raised eyebrows when checking in and out. The room however was incredible and we ate in the hotel and the meal was fantastic! Location is aso brilliant. Sleep was ok but we did have somebody try to access the room in the early hours which shook up my wife. Personally would rather pay much less and stay in a hotel with more character in line with Poland.

We stayed five nights in the hotel. It is probably the best place to stay in Krakow. Perfect location, modern comfortable rooms, spledid service, lovely terrace and nice fitness center. The restaurant is one of the best in Krakow (Copernicus from the same owner is the best we visited and merits at least a Michelin star).

A girlfriend and I spent 3 glorious days based at the Stary, in snowy Krakow. Great Location, just off the main square around the corner from the Cloth Hall - Amber and silver paradise.. Amazing spacious suite. Marble-clad bathroom GORGEOUS. Molten Brown toiletries. Yum yum. Only fault was smell from spa bath. Needed a good clean as jets had become blocked. We requested a street facing room, and yes it was noisy at times. But this was our preference over a quieter, but much darker internal room. Remember this is a beautiful OLD building. The pool area was magical. Located in the gothic cellar. Lift or stairs take you there. Not for the claustrophobic, though. Great Scottish showers included.
Huge bed, rather hard, pristine linen and extra pillows available on request. Take your own if you are really fussy about pillows, they were very flat!
Breakfast was our biggest disapointment. Expected far bigger selection. Juice put out for guests was not freshly squeezed. However, this did appear at our request. Restaurant was minimalist, but lovely non the less. Bar area very nice, but pricey. Have stayed in several other very good hotels in Krakow, but this is our fav! Would definetely return.

Room Tip: Depends on your budget and time of year you visit. Front facing rooms are noisy, but lighter. Intern...

We absolutely loved it. It is extremely beautiful, perfect location and wonderful fitness center. And the staff couldn't have been more helpful and just plain nice. So sad it is so far away. I would love to stay there again and would recommend it to all. Definitely worth the extra.

If you are heading to Krakow on business try this quirky modernistic hotel. it's built in the remains of an old family home just off the main square in Krakow, so a great location. English speaking and very friendly staff, good breakfast and modern minimalist interior e.g glass roofed lounge area, lounging roof top area for the summer, spa bath in every room, big airy rooms.

Amazing hotel (one of three of the same owners, with Copernicus and Pod Roza) - old style proprety, nicely refurbished, walking distance from main square. Beautiful rooms and outstanding spa so make sure you have some time to enjoy it. During summer time there is also a great bar on the to floor, with nice view on the sourrandings. More touristic that business place but clearly enjoyable whatever raison for the stay. Only drawback, a lot of noise from slightly too drunk visitors so windows need to remain shut :-(

Room Tip: Stay in old part of the hotel
