As one website states, this is the best deal in krakow by far, ok its a little far out but when you weigh it up the distance is not a problem, It has a nice compact pizza parlour and bar, rooms are spotless and the staff are very helpful, i would stay here again.

We recently stayed at the hotel system pop in Krakow and loved it. I had read the reviews and was a bit dubious about it but i have to give it 10/10

When we arrived at the airport we made the mistake of getting an airport taxi to the hotel- this cost us nearly £20 or 70 zloty.

What i would say is, it is difficult to find (our taxi driver didn't know where it was and had to ask someone else!) It would be hard to find off the bus route too. The best way to get there on the cheap would be to get the free shuttle bus to the railway station which picks up outside the main terminal. Then get the train to Krakow glodwy (this is the main city center station). From here you could get the number 130 bus which picks up outside the big shopping center which is just outside the train station. If you get to the shopping center and cross the tram lines there is a bus stop on the corner by a zebra crossing and a newsstand. The bus will take approximately 20mins and will stop off at a sort of little bus station from here you need to walk to the end of the road and turn left, walking alongside a busy dual carriageway. The hotel is situated on the forecourt of a shell garage and is across the road from ikea and a massive macro, you cant miss it. There is also a KFC and McDonalds across the road. In my opinion the best way to get there would be to get to the train station and then get a taxi to the hotel which would be around £4

Rooms are spotless, small but clean and very good value for money. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly and the restaurant is very good value for money and very tasty too. They serve a buffet breakfast for around £3. They do a mean pizza, freshly made to order, and cheap! couldn't fault the hotel for food, cleanliness and service. You only get one towel every 3 days though. There are lots of free maps and information guides in reception.

From outside the hotel across the road you can get the 173 bus which will take you into the old town, you need to get off it at a big hotel called the hotel cracovia, it is opposite a museum. Like most of the bus stops in Krakow you will have to walk a bit to get to certain places. When you get off, it'll be a busy junction, cross over and turn right, when you get to the bottom of this street there is a park, walk threw the park, turn up one of the streets off the park and it will lead you into the main town.

To get to the train station from the hotel, go left outside the hotel and walk along the main road as the road turns right there is some steps going down to a park, take the steps and follow the curve of the road, it'll come out by a little bus stop, take the 130 into town, its the last stop and will drop off outside the shopping center, if you walk threw the shopping center you can get to the station.

Each bus trip is about 50p or 2.50 zloty, but you can get day passes. You get them from the driver or from newsstands. The way i have described the buses all sounds a bit complicated i know and to be fair is a little tricky if you don't know, but once you have done it once, its easy.

A good trip is to Auschwitz, you can get there via the train. We paid £10 return for 2 people. It takes about 1 1/2 hours on the train to get there, they depart about every hour. You need the train to oswiecim (polish word for Auschwitz) When you get there you need to get another bus from the station to the place itself which is about 1km. You can get this right outside the station, number 24,25 or 28 again about 2.50 zloty. Entrance to Auschwitz is free and there is a free shuttle bus to Birkenau which is about 3km up the road. There is a little paper guide you can buy for around a pound which explains all about Auschwitz, you can get it from the counter as you go in.Check return train times whilst in the station as they are not frequent (only two or three a day going back)

The salt mines are another good trip. Trains leave roughly every hour, you can only get the train there, you have to get a bus back. The train is around 5zlotys for 2 people and takes about 20minutes. When you get off cross over the road and head up threw the park, its sign posted, only about a 5 minute walk, we paid roughly £15 each to get in but a very good day trip. The bus back goes from the park frequently and only costs about 2.50 zloty each. Look for a minibus type of thing, it'll have Krakow on the front (its not a big bus like in the city).

If you want train information there is a counter at the very end of the station (signposted)they are very helpful and will print out the times for you.

We had a great time in Krakow, would highly recommend it, lots of walking but lots to see. The hotel system pop is a little out of the city (approx 6km) but if you don't mind a bit of walking and a bus into the city then you'll find that hotel system pop is excellent value for money and very clean. I don't think that you could beat it. Dont let the fact that you have to catch buses put you off!

we were at this hotel 15th feb this year and booked it whilst booking the flights with jet2.com.we didnt know anything about the hotel just that it said it wasbasically 600m from bars. It,s definately alot further than that and is quite away out of the main city but is near to the airport.a taxi is very cheap into the cities main square at around £4 and maybe the same or a little less to the train station.it was absolutely freezing cold so getting a taxi was the best option.
The receptionists spoke very good english and the rooms were very basic but very very clean and the beds were to die for,so comfortable, after hours of walking they were very welcome. You can get breakfast cheaply for around £3 and it consists of pastries, hot dogs, cheese on toast, scrambled egg and lots of eggs decorated with lots of different things!it works on a buffet so you can keep on helping yourself if you really wanted to!nice coffee.fine for a weekend break.
we visited auschwitz/birkenua.very sad and spooky but interesting.train £4 for us both and took 2 hrs to get there pleasant journey and clean trains and warm2.u cant spend ur money in poland its so very cheap.loads of lovely bars and restauraunts also cheap and loads of shops 2.try and walk to the ghetto and find schindlers factory.renovating it while we were there but still strange to see it.its a long walk but its interesting around the old jewish quarters.poland is very very clean and we will prob go back when warmer.be prepared in feb the wind is biting cold and it snowed too.plenty of layers required.a great trip which we enjoyed very much.if we go back we wld book a hotel much nearer the centre though.

stayed here one night after our flight was cancelled.arrived late and there was no problem getting a room.located beside a highway about 15 mins from the airport.i am not sure hoe close it is in relation to the city centre but i reckon its quite a bit.this hotel is of similar style to formule 1 hotels.its very very basic.not a place to spend a week on holiday! rooms are basic and clean.the breakfast was poor.not a great option to set you up for the day.there is free internet access in the lobby which is good.the reception staff were very friendly.there is a filling station right next door and a kfc just up the road.we went up to kfc late at night, around half 11...it was not that comfortable hanging around that late at night...got alot of strange looks and a drunk or two hanging around that are.good hotel for location near the airport.great room rates.

Very cheap ~$45Cdn/night for double. Our room was facing the 4 lane highway so you couldn't really sleep with the window open due to the noise of the 18 wheelers. Also we were on the second floor and you could access the not-to-used balcony by climbing out of your window - a lot of 18-22 year old kids were staying there and they thought that this was the coolest thing ever and kept running and walking on the balcony making noise. Managment didn't really do anything about it.

You get one towel every 3 days (you can ask for another one if you like). No airconditioning. Located about a 10min bus ride from the main square in Krakow.

Get directions before you go as the ones posted on their website are so general. The bus that stops directly outside the hotel is bus #173 and is only accessed just outside the center of Krakow - may be difficult to find.
