“A great stay -- highly recommended!”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

I just stayed here for a couple nights and I'm so glad I did. Safe, accessible, and the owners are so nice. I had a room facing the street but I didn't have any issue with the noise -- nothing earplugs couldn't manage. It was great to have access to the fridge to store drinks. I loved the garden and the cat is very sweet -- you really feel like you are visiting a friend's house. There was no TV in the room, so I was actually able to listen to the owner play some of his fantastic music instead -- definitely better and got my mind off things! I would highly recommend this hotel.

We spent four nights here last week and if you're looking for something a bit different to the normal travelodge-type cheap hotels, this is ideal. It's a bit of a walk (10-15 mins) into town and perhaps not in the nicest area, but the owners were so helpful and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone on a budget.

Not much to look at from the outside, once inside the warmth and hospitality from the owners (mother and son) was second to none. Quite old fashioned in a cosy sort of way. Myself, sister and neice stayed for 4 nights in a 3 bedded bedroom. Very spacious, with an en suite, and a little terrace with a table and chairs. The beds were comfortable so a good nights sleep was had by all. A Large wardrobe adequate to hold all our clothes plus a suitcase, room pretty big with enough space to swing a cat. Decor basic, but the room was very clean.
Continental breakfast was wonderful, and at a time to suit you so there was no rising early, apart from the trips. We booked Auschwitz, and the Salt mines through the son. Both on different days but well worth it.

As for Krackow itself and the main square, what a delight.

Basically had a fantastic time and would deffo return, food and drink , cocktails very cheap.

All in all a great time, and convinced my friends Krackow and the Piano guest is well worth a visit.

We stayed four nights at the Piano guest house. If we had seen the properties adjacent to the guest house we wouldn't have booked as they are really run down. The lady and son owners were very friendly on our arrival and we were given coffee and cake. We asked about trips to Auschwitz and the salt mine and the son booked them for us straight away. We would not normally do this but they were moderate prices and, as it turned out, the mini buses were prompt and courteous. No food stops were taken on the mini bus but snack food is available at the two sites. The breakfasts were wonderful with an old fashioned courtesy, probably some of the best we have had in all our travelling. Rooms were old but clean and the bathroom had a shower only. Recommended for short breaks. Access to city centre was 20 minute walk, no problem.

Room Tip: Try and get a rear room as the railway and road are noisy for light sleepers

Bedrooms are nice and spacious…if you are looking for a place with a TV then this is not for you since there is no TV available so if you are staying for a few nights and want to spend some time in the room chilling then is no good either, but if you need a place to sleep at…clean and friendly then come here.

The location is not the best, but it is still 5 minutes away from the main bus station. On the other hand after walking the city all day the walk back to the hotel from the center seems a little longer than what it actually is so keep this in mind.

I have seen other reviews about the lack of English but during our 4 night stay the sons of the lady owner were always there (although we did not spend a lot of time in the place) so there was no problem with the language barrier.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a room facing the garden…they really are quiet rooms and you will get a good nigh...

We stayed here for 3 nights. We did not book breakfast but were offered when we got there and it was a great spread. The guest house owners were extremely friendly and helpful, we were offered tea when we arrived and they couldn't have done more. They booked our taxi to the airport when we left and we paid 36 zlotys, whereas from the airport we paid 89! Very large, spacious room with a lot of character. Would highly recommend staying here.
