Krakow is a marvelous place to visit as a tourist, and it has many wonderful sites to see. Of particular note are the very friendly local folks. Most of the younger people speak English, and are helpful if you have questions or are just seeking directions. In the heart of the old Jewish Quarter lies the Rubinstein Hotel - named after the cosmetics founder (Helena Rubinstein) who grew up next door to where the hotel is located. The hotel staff is most pleasant and helpful and in front of the hotel is a large open area with numerous tables - served by the restaurants on either side of the hotel. There are also restaurants and bars across the street from the restaurant. Likewise, across the street from the hotel is an area where you can pick up one of the modified golf carts (for lack of a better description) to carry you all around Krakow. You can usually negotiate a lower price the service. The hotel is about a 25 minute walk from the Castle and a shorter walk to the Old Town Market Square. The rooms at the hotel are quite nice and some have antiquities in the room. The entire hotel was renovated (rebuilt) and the 'before' photo's should not be missed. The room we had was very large and well appointed. However, the phone did not work and could not be fixed while we were there since the wall had to be opened up to fix the phone, Also, if you have a late arrival - be sure to call the hotel a day or so before your arrival and remind the staff that you will be coming in late - just to ensure that your room is not given to someone else. All-in-all a very convenient, enjoyable place to stay. jr

Room Tip: Ask for a room with antiquities - whether an old statute or painting. Also, ask for a room that doe...

We have just returned from 5 nights in this wonderful hotel which is very well situated near to a tram stop and there are many restaurants close by.
We had a spotlessly clean standard room that was large and beautifully furnished with a large marble bathroom very well stocked with good quality toiletries that were replenished each day, the room was also lovely and warm and very welcoming after coming in from the cold outside.
The breakfast was excellent with a very good choice, some hot choices were included and are cooked freshly for you and additional dishes could be ordered for a small supplement.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We booked our airport transfers through the hotel and these went very smoothly, we had been diverted to another airport for two hours due to fog and was so please to see the taxi driver holding a board up with our name when we finally arrived at Krakow Airport.
We also booked two tours through the hotel and again everything went smoothly and were picked up and dropped off at the hotel.
Restaurants to recommend are Zsara across the road, Portofinos and Warztat (all on Trip Advisor), there is a lovely atmosphere in the reatuarants around the Jewish Quarter at night.

The hotel in itself was of a very good quality, extremely clean, with good facilities, but the biggest plus was the helpful and friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. There was a really good choice at breakfast and the hotel was even able to provide me with gluten free bread, which I emailed and asked for in advance. They also used it to provide a packed lunch.

This is located as per all the other reviews and is about 15 minutes stroll from the market square. The immediate area away from the hotel is not actually that nice with very few facilities that a tourist would probably need !
The staff could not have been more helpful in arranging our taxis and trips.
Didn't eat there in the evening but the breakfast at 38 pl.is good value for money with plenty of choice of hot and cold food.
I had what was called a single room with a double bed. 2 people would have been a bit cramped in a room that size but it was nonetheless very clean and comfortable.
The shower room was too small and it required putting a foot in the shower in order to sit on the loo in any comfort ( sorry if too much detail here ! ) but apart from that niggle this place cannot be faulted.

Room Tip: see if there are any larger rooms than the standard one.

We stayed there on Valentine Day at room 502. It was fabulous! Great place, friendly and customer focus staff. Terrific food both on dinner and breakfast. Location in the centre of Old Jewish District of historic Cracow and for those who are interested in history of Polish Jews its absolutely a 'must see' place. Room was great too. Spacious, clean, quiet, freshly renovated, comfortable king;s bed, 2 bathrooms with unique design. Spectacular view upon Szeroka street and in far perspective - Wawel Castle. We will be back on 'Szalom on Szeroka street' ( festival of Jewish culture) but now we will ask for a table on upper terrace. Highly recommended.
