“Be aware there are two entirely different properities.”
Reviewed 11 October 2012

I stayed at the Angle House 1, forth floor apartments for six nights. The apartments were close to a tram station and a 15 min walk to the center of Old Town. The property is in an unmarked building. For some reason there was no sign inside or out that said it was the Angle House1 B&B. The room was comfortable and clean when I arrived. All the fixtures worked, Wifi worked well in the room and the breakfast area.

Staff was very helpful but only there for a limited time. When she left there was no-one to monitor the comings or goings of the 5 rented rooms in the apartment. We all shared the same common entry & kitchen area but had locked bedroom doors. It was a bit eerie knowing someone entered the apartment at night & not having management on the premises. There was no house phone to use for emergencies.

The hallway & breakfast area were kept spotless. My bedroom was not serviced during the entire stay. At day 3 I was asked if I wanted fresh towels but sheets and bathroom were not cleaned. The wood floor became gritty from tracked street dirt.

Room Tip: Good for groups that can book all 5 rooms and have the apartment to themselves.

Dear guest Thank you for your opinion about Angel House.

Angel House is located in a historic building on the third floor, which belongs to the general architect of Krakow, and unfortunately we can not, despite intensive efforts, put the sign outside the building.

Angel House is guest house not hotel, which is a little different rules. All guests are given keys and necessary information upon arrival (also in each room is a book with all the information). Also have the phone number that is available 24 / h In the event of an emergency situation, staff can accommodate a spot at a maximum of 30 minutes.
Guests are informed when booking the room that Angel House does not have a 24 / h reception

Room service is done at your request if it is poorly executed very sorry and made every effort to find out who is responsible.

Once again, thank you very much for your feedback.

I was a bit dubious about this B&B as I headed down the road to the Angel House Bed & Breakfast and into the building that houses it. Not to mention the six flights of stairs that lead to the third floor. However, upon entering the B&B all fears were alleviated. Its a lovely apartment with attractive decor. The single room that I stayed in was clean and comfortable, although considerably less roomy than the double rooms. It was also next to the kitchen which meant I could hear the early preparation of the breakfast but since I had such a deep sleep, it didn't matter. The lovely breakfast area was only matched by the impressive breakfast spread and tea & coffee were accessible all day. The hostesses are lovely and helpful in person and via email. They also booked a tour for me to Auschwitz & the Salt Mines which allowed me to be collected at the door. A computer is available for those who don't travel with technology. It is close to the railway station, old town and the Jewish quarter. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Angel House Bed & Breakfast.

This is an exellent place to stay when you are planning your short trip to Krakow. The hot-spots of the ols town and Kazimierz are within walking distance. The facilities of the hostel are very good, beds and rooms are clean and big enough for 2 people. The hostel offers a good continental breakfast. Staff takes every effort to make your stay pleasant.

A fantastic little gem of a B&B, they sell themselves as standard, but the quality of the rooms, comfort of beds, added value (such as access to a kitchen and fridge, complimentary teas, coffee and water all day). This place tops most hotels.

We really enjoyed our stay in Angel bed and breakfast.Arrange a lift from airport because its hard to find. Accomodation can arrange this. Its on the third floor with no lift but you get use to it. They kindly looked after our luggage for the day as we were leaving late in the day.We were in bedroom 1 which I suspect may be the best room.Breakfast was great. Its in a great location.

Room Tip: avoid bedroom beside kitchen. It seemed very small and has a futon. Probably should be a single room...

I think the easiest way to review this place is to list its pros and cons.

Pros: Firstly, the location was very good being near to the train station, central square and a short walk away from the castle and Jewish quarter. The whole apartment was very clean and beautifully decorated - the photos do it justice which makes a change from other B&Bs I've stayed in. Lastly, the staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful.

Cons: Unfortunately there were some disappointments, the greatest of which was that I had specifically requested not to be put in the room next to the kitchen as I knew it was rather small and could get noisy in the mornings. Although they had received this request a long time in advance this is where we were put for the first night. The biggest problem in this room was that the windows lacked curtains and as a result I awoke with the dawn and could not get back to sleep again. To add insult to a tired and grumpy morning, we then found out at breakfast from our fellow guests that we were paying considerably more per night than our French and German counterparts. Was this because we were English? Who knows, but this did not make for a good first impression at all. Luckily, after some persuading, we were moved to a gorgeous room (which, thankfully, had curtains).

A few minor gripes:

Something that made us uneasy on arrival was that there were no signs or any indication outside the building that this was the correct location so we had to ring through to confirm that we had come to the right place.

There was nowhere to sit and relax outside the bedrooms due to the space-saving layout of the apartment, which was designed to fit in as many bedrooms as possible.
