“We loved it!”

We stay for only one night, but wished we could have been there longer. The beds were comfortable, free (fast) internet and breakfast were huge perks, and it's within walking distance of everything in Krakow. Staff was friendly and recommended great restaurants and helped with directions. The only criticism is that there were not screens on windows, so when we opened them for air circulation we also let in flies and other insects. Despite that minor discomfort, it is a place we would love to stay again. Go Secret Garden Hostel!

We stayed in Lavender room for 2 nights, had own bathroom and double bed (a little small but comfy) - all clean. working tv was a nice bonus. the only surprise was that Lavender room is behind the TV/internet room without the separate entrance - we were concerned in the begining about the possible noise from the TV room but nothing disrupted our sleep. The staff also seem quite strict about keeping it down after 10pm.
Breakfast was great: one kind of cheese and meat plus selection of jams, cereals, bread. Hot drinks available all day in the kitchen equipped with all amenities so you can even cook your dinner. The place is located in Kazimierz part of Krakow - 5 min walk from tens of pubs and bars and 15 min walk from the old town.

I stayed in the secret garden hostel a few weeks ago and cannot say a bad word about it. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Olive Grove room which was a lovely size and right next to the bathroom. The receptionist where extremely welcoming and helpful. They helped us book a trip to auschwitz which was great value for money.
The breakfast which was included in the price of the room was above and beyond any hostel I have ever stayed at. The offered a selection of breads preserves ,cereals ,ham, cheese and yogurts. And had fresh filter coffee on offer and five varieties of tea!

The hostel it's self was located very close to the kazimierz which was lovely to wonder through at night and had many a beautiful resturant

The only down side is that we booked a double room and we were given a twin room with the beds pushed together but in the grand scheme of things this was not a big deal at all.
Overall a beautiful hostel which was great value for money a must when visited krakow.

I stayed at the Secret Garden Hostel at Krakow a couple of weeks ago. The hostel is located in a really nice place - with just a 15-20 minute walk to the Old Town Square and at the same time, very close to Kazimierz.

The staff at the front desk were just the nicest people that I have interacted with. Anna, Patricia and Magda made my stay there a memorable experience. First of all, they were kind enough to wake me up the next day for a day trip to Auschwitz. Also, they helped me use their phone so I could call and confirm the day trip to Auschwitz. Also, they were extremely helpful in printing out the instructions for me to repair my broken camera. Their helpful nature and warm, smiling personality made it a pleasure to stay at the hostel.

My cozy little room was comfortable for both the nights that I stayed. The breakfast in the morning was great, and helped you prepare quickly for the day and get a head start.

Overall, I would totally recommend the hostel to anyone that's planning a Krakow trip and looks for a place that is clean and nice and centrally located with an amazing staff.

Room Tip: Breakfast was included in the price and was really good!

Stayed here for a weekend trip to Krakow and the place exceeded our expectations. We had the studio which was located close to Plac Wolnica, only a few hundred meters away from the night life of Krakows Jewish district Kazimierz.

The apartment was clean and quite spacious, decorated in light colors. It had a small kitchenet and a well equipped bathroom (including hair dryer and washing machine). It just has to be considered, that the studio is on the third floor and there is no elevator.

Can not say much about the hostel, besides what I saw when picking up the keys (the studio is two blocks away from the hostel). It made a very good impression, was clean, colorful with helpful and polite staff. For a hostel, the included breakfast was more than proper - buffet style with jam, nutella, pickles, ham, cheese, cottage cheese and 3 types of corn flakes.

Definitely recommendable! Really liked the place. And a great location for visiting Kazimierz and Podgorze. The old town is a relaxed 30min stroll along the river away.

I stayed in the studio for 3 nights with my husband – 2 nights in Studio B and 1 night in Studio A (next door to each other). I chose this place as it’s in Kazimierz, the Jewish district, which is less touristy than the centre and were glad we did as we found much better places to eat and drink and enjoyed the sights more in this area. The studio is a few doors down from the hostel on Skawinska but was a little difficult to find as it’s through 3 security doors (please email me if you’d like directions!). It’s only a few minutes walk to the centre of Kazimierz, 10 minutes to Wawel Castle and 15 minutes to Main Square.

Both studios are excellent – very clean, modern, stylish and plush and everything we could have wanted – comfy double bed, kitchenette with dishwasher, a modern bathroom with hairdryer and they both lead out to a pretty garden. It was bliss to return to our cosy and warm studio after a day out in the cold snow and it even felt like there was under-floor heating. They both had a large flat screen TV but there were no English channels. The only difference between the studios was a very slight difference in the style (see my photos) and Studio A had a slightly smaller bathroom with no bath. Studio B had a bath as well as a washing machine.

It was nice that we were in our own private apartment rather than in a noisy hotel or hostel with lots of other people, although the hostel wasn’t really your typical hostel and was mostly older people. We had a basic complimentary breakfast in the main part of the hostel every morning which included cereal, toast, jams, ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, yoghurts and hot drinks. There was no juice though which was a bit disappointing as I’m not keen on hot drinks and don’t like water with breakfast! There’s free wifi all over the hostel and in the studios it’s quicker than my own wifi at home!

There’s lots of information in the reception on what to do around Krakow including good maps and you can buy tram tickets from reception. I would double check on some things though as we asked if you needed to book the bus to Zakopane and they told us no and when we turned up at the bus station it turned out you did need to book in advance so we had a few problems. They also arranged a transfer to and from the airport for us which only cost 60zl (about £12).

Other than that for the price, location, amenities and wonderful rooms I would definitely recommend the studios – we loved them!

Room Tip: Both of the studios on Skawinska are lovely and more private - modern, stylish, cosy and warm.

We stayed here over the Easter holiday. The hostel is situated at walking distance from the old town and castle, and public transport connections.

The rooms were super clean and the decor of each room was theme based. We loved the concept of the hostel. The common TV room with lots of books (but mainly Polish), some games and CDs/DVDs was nice to relax and chat with friends. There was no cleaning service for rooms, but it didn't matter to us.

The breakfast was very basic with confiture, bread, salads, cheese, meat-slices, bolied eggs, tea and coffee. There was always somebody on reception and they were super friendly and helpful. They also provided us the taxi service from airport to hotel for 60zl, which is reasonable. Also, they have recommendations for quiet some restaurants and pubs, which one could also find in the guide books.
Would stay again :)
