We found this hotel to be reasonably priced, spotlessly clean with friendly, helpful staff ; good service, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. Ideally situated for the Kazimierz (Jewish area) and 15 minutes stroll into the centre. . Will definitely stay there again. Recommended.

Room Tip: Trams run in front of the hotel so a room at the back is better than the front, though the trams did...

We have just got back from our stay at the hotel having enjoyed a few days in Krakow.

I chose this hotel because of its location and also because of the ratings it had been given on here. I have previously stayed @ Cracowdays, which we also liked and also used Trip Advisor to help us decide.

The hotel is in a really good spot, with the main square only 10-15 mins walk away. It also had the benefit of being in the Jewish district and walking distance to other historical sites/attractions, such as Wavel Castle and Zgody square, and Schindlers factory etc.

The hotel itself is pleasant enough to look @, with the rooms consisting of everything you would expect, including a reasonably priced mini bar, which we had a real go at every day. Breakfast consisted of a wide variety to suit most tastes, and we enjoyed this every day.

The staff we are also pleasant and friendly and the rooms were cleaned daily. What my wife and I did like, was that we were left alone. Sometimes in smaller hotels getting to your room can be a mission as you are always asked about your day etc, but here you knew you could have that conversation, but mostly, and thankfully you were left to your own devices, although you were always met with a smile.

I would have given the hotel more stars, but on our 3rd day there we saw some workmen entering at the back of the hotel, followed by some drilling. One of the staff then gave us a bottle of wine to apologise for the noise, which at this time was not too bad, however on the following day and the day after the noise was really loud, so much so that I got a headache.

This was due to the relentless noise of a pneumatic drill which assisted the JCB in making a hole of at least 12 foot in depth, and significantly more in width. This was literally 12-15 foot from our window. The work also started @ 8am, which was also unwelcome as we came on holiday to relax.

We appreciated the wine, but a fore warning of these works would have been appreciated, and also the offer to change rooms would also have been welcome. We would have complained, but only had 2-3 days left before we were going, so we chose not to, but in hindsight we should have, as at least the noise would not have been so loud for a couple of days. (if we changed rooms).

I appreciate this was obviously a one off, and we were just unlucky, and we appreciate the wine gesture at the time it was made, but I can not give more stars on the basis that I think we should have been warned about the pending building works and given the offer to move rooms. Other than this I would recommend the hotel.

I just got back from my trip and already miss the Hotel Columbus!! Anita, Philipe the entire staff are so delightful. This place is beautifully located being walking distance to just about everything that you might want to see and it's right at a tram stop. So, request a room that is off the street and you won't hear a thing. The rooms are a decent size, big enough for the essentials and the beds are fabulously comfy. After a day of walking and eating, these are the beds that are inviting. The bathrooms are nicely appointed, but I found that the towels are on the rough side and that is my only complaint. NY Wanderer complained about no chain on the door - I was in three rooms in nine days, no chains anywhere. Hotel Columbus is a safe zone! Quiet, clean and reasonably priced. Don't hesitate to make a reservation here.

Room Tip: From the train station, all you have to do is take a tram practically to the front door. Ask for a...

There is a lot to like and some to watch out for. The front rooms are on a tram route. If you are a light sleeper, it is a problem. I usually sleep through anything but was awakened by the trams and also by a siren at 3 am. Heard that the back rooms are better but did not sleep there. The rooms are a good value but are not luxurious. The bathrooms have been modernized and are quite nice. The staff is helpful and pleasant. The breakfast is nice. The location is fine. If you get a good price do not hesitate. One thing, there is no chain in the room to secure the door.

Room Tip: Back rooms are quieter

On behalf of our team I would like to thank You for your positive feedback about our service. Regarding your note about noise coming from the street, please accept our sincere apologies for your inconvenience.
Unfortunately since our hotel is placed in strict center of the city, public transportation noise is hard to avoid.

Thank you again for staying with us.

We stayed here for 3 nights and have nothing negative to stay about the hotel. It is clean, walking distance to everything and includes breakfast. By far the best thing about this hotel is the staff who are all friendly and very helpful. Would definately stay here again and recommend to all visitors to Krakow.

At the hotel at the moment just had a lovely breakfast everything you could want beautifully presented and fresh. Lovely staff very friendly and helpful . Next door to the Jewish Quarter with lovely restaurants. 7 minute walk to Shindlers Factory and about the same to the Old Town . Ideal location. Team stop supermarket and post office opposite the hotel. Will definitely stay here again . Sue cannon London

We stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of September with much anticipation and were not disappointed. There was a taxi at the airport waiting for us, as booked, on arrival. This proved to be a good option. We had requested a quiet room at the back of the hotel & were very pleased with room 17 which was clean, quiet and plenty big enough. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was fresh and delicious & plenty of room. We booked Auschwitz + Salt Mine tours via the hotel which was great and convenient with professional guides and drivers. (Discover Krakow). Hotel is very well placed being 2 minutes walk to Kazimierz square, 10 minutes walk to Old Square, 10 minutes to Schindlers Factory. Tram system around Krakow is great too and easy to use. The hotel kindly looked after our bags on the last day as we had a late flight and i want to mention the driver that took us to the airport as he was particularly kind and made our final hour before arriving at the airport a lovely end to our holiday.
I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Columbus and would definately stay here again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter. We had room 17 which was lovely and quiet and on the first floor
