Not a boutique or 5 star hotel but it is quaint, clean, comfortable hotel at the edge of the Jewish district and a 20 minute walk to the center of the old town. Several nice restaurants are within walking distance and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Husband and i stayed here in may for three nights. Check in was indeed express, staff were at all times polite and helpful. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. Breakfast which was included was fresh and was perfect for us, absolutely suffucient. There are plenty of little restaurants and bars close by. It definitely is a 15-20min walk to market square and old town but we didnt mind at all. We did feel safe as we walked around the streets. Its about 25 min walk to the train/ bus station and shopping centre from the hotel too. Our room ( which was at back of hotel) was modern, again very clean and comfortable. It was noisey on weekday mornings from about 7am due to building works going on next door at the back. There is a bakery a couple of doors up from hotel and we picked up rolls, cakes etc and water for our trips to salt mines and auschwich. You will def need supplies with you!!Would recommend this hotel. the jewish quarter where this hotel is is not as commericaiised as the old town and is more rustic, we were more than happy we stayed here and would again.

We just returned from a six night stay at Hotel Columbus and were very pleased with the entire experience. We found the location to be just fine although it is not in the Old Town section. We spent only half of our time there anyway and found the nearby restaurants and many historical sites close by. It is about 15-20 mins. to Schindler's Factory Museum.

The room itself was very nice and the breakfast was excellent. My only negative comment was the breakfast hours could have started earlier. Theirs started at 7:30. Some people had commented about some construction noise and we truly never heard any nor did the tram sounds filter into our rooms. The beds/pillows were very comfy.

The staff was very helpful and we would highly recommend this hotel. If you are only interested in the Old Town, this may not be the best fit for you.

Room Tip: Ask for one in the back of the hotel.

be aware that Old town is not a short walk (around 15-20 minutes). however, there is a tram stop just in front of the hotel, so that is ok. you have wi-fi, rooms are clean and quiet. Breakfast is fine. the city part, where the hotel is located is not very pleasant, take this into count if you decide to walk to the hotel during the night...to many alcohol shops around...and no restaurants or cafes, nearby, as it is described in the advertisements on the booking web.pages

The hotel is pretty modern in a great location close to the Jewish Quarter and a short walk to the Old Town Market Square. Tram stop right outside the entrance. Front staff was a little snobby at first, but happily took our bags while our room was being made up. They provided maps and a plug adapter for the room. Breakfast was above average with a comfortable and bright dining area. The room was very clean and larger than typical European standards. I loved the modern half-moon shower. Speakers in the bathroom too, so you can hear the tv.

This hotel may not look like that much from the outside....or is it the very slightly seedy neighborhood, but it is a TERRIFIC hotel - clean wonderful charming rooms and spacious bathrooms that are some of the nicest this world traveler has been in, with wonderful shampoo type products as well. The breakfast was terrific and more than ample with loads of variety, the room where we ate was immaculate. BUT most of all, every single person we encountered from the maids to the desk guys were friendly, helpful, funny, interesting and interested in us...it was overall an absolutely GREAT stay!!
