“The only of its kind in Europe (outside Norway...)”
Reviewed 8 March 2014

Wang Church in Karpacz has been build in Norway some 800 years ago... In mid 1840-s it was moved to Poland to serve the Protestants living in Karpacz... Built without a single nail, unique charm, unique smell and atmosphere... And the views of Karkonosze. You can visit it on your way up to the mountains or back... Or join the Sunday service there.

One of the must-sees in Poland!

“Wang church”

Lovely little wooden church, but a steep climb to get there - get a lift if you can. Great views from the top though!

“Cute little church - story played to you!”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

Its worth taking a walk to the upper Karpacz to see this scenically located church. The surrounding park, and cementary are nice and offer good views down the valley.

You should purchase a ticket to enter the church ca 5-7 PLN pp and see it inside and in detail.

As we are polish we could enjoy the prepared guide tape that is played back to all gathered inside. Once finished the guide joins in and tells the missing parts of the stories.

Well made but ask for other language to understand at least a word:)

“Different”
Reviewed 30 September 2013

Overlooking karpacz is the most remarkable little wooden church, what makes it so special is that apart from the architecture,it was completely built without using any nails and is held together just by wooden joints.
As you walk up to it,you'll find little market stalls selling tourist junk and food and drink, the smell of smoked sausages though really makes you feel so hungry as you pass them.
Good place to go if you have a spare hour, good place also to start if you want to venture further into the karkonosze mountains.

“A must see in South West Poland!”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

Close to the border with the Czech Republic lies a true gem. Wang church is a 12th century Norwegian church bought and dismantled by a Prussian king in the 19th century and transported to what is now south-western Poland. It is 100% wooden with no metal nails or screws. The church is one of only thrity that still exist in the wold with 28 being in Norway. The details carved in wood are amazing. It is situated on top of a hill overlooking an amazing view. Not to be missed.
