“Overbookings everyday”
Reviewed 27 August 2012

The day we arrived there, the receptionist (a brunette girl very stupid) told us that there weren't rooms for us, and we should go to their other hotel, Polonia Hotel. And here started all the lies...
We moved to hotel Polonia but it was dirty, ugly, and lower category than Silfor Europeijsky. Off course we came again to the receptionist to claim for our rights. And the only answer of this brunette girl was allways the same: It's not my problem, yo have to go there. And they allways told us that Polonia hotel was the same cathegory, even if we could see the 2 stars in one and the 3 stars in the other.

This girls was lying & cheating us all the time, saying that there were a water flooding in all of our rooms, after that they don't have claims book, that the manager was out of the city.

Nobody was in the hotel just to manage the problem & help us. We spent there all the day just waiting for a solutions, until there arrived another receptionist (a blonde one) so nice & kind, that arranged everything, and gave us some more rooms in Silfor, and moved the other people to another better hoter close to the center.

The only reward we got was a free breakfast for everybody. And they said it will be a dinner and a bottle of vodka for everyone, but finally it was only one for me, and no one else.

After that, a lot of problems more came: The lock of some rooms were broken and they had to wait for 2 hours! to repair. Others had some ashes in the room and a lot of smoke, that they could'nt sleep well...

We're so sad about the tretment the hotel gave us, and for sure we don't recommend stay there because we're never comming back.

Very helpful staff... large sized comfortable rooms. Location super for station, and short walk to city centre. Clean. Breakfast was fine for the cost. The aircon in the room made a noise but did not have much impact even on max. Certainly use it again.

Nothing to complain about, it is on the noisy side, but Wroclaw is a busy city. Loads of night shops around, only a stone's throw from the Marketplace. Room was clean, so was the bathroom. Not the best hotel I ever stayed in, but nothing major to complain about.

We stayed one night only.Hotel has super location. Close of historical centre. 10 min walk. If U want to visit center and river islands of Wroclaw, its the right hotel.Room is big, clean. Wireless internet in the room. Gaurded parking close of hotel for 7€ per 24 hours. I had no food in the hotel. I cant say nothing about...
Minus - hotel is no the corner of noisy streets :(

The hotel is one big disappointment. Very weak support from the reception desk. Reception much more like in hostel than in hotel. Rooms small and not well maintained. Not cleaned frequently beneath the bed. I was in December, it was cold and the room was underheated. Somewhere, on the roof a terrible infernal machine "echoed" very loudly so that it was difficult to sleep. breakfast very poor and again like in hostel. Avoid if you can. One good thing: 10-15 min walking distance from the railway station. 20 min to the main square.

The Silfor does have a nice breakfast buffet. The rooms can be quite small. Wired internet access is excruciatingly slow. Amenities are minimal. Lighting in the room was insufficiently bright to work at night. There is little differentiation between "smoking" and "non-smoking" rooms - they are mixed on the same floors, so smoke can and does migrate readily to the non-smoking rooms. Walls are thin; a loud snoring guest can be easily heard in the next room. Parking is a half-block away from the hotel, across a busy street. There is literally no place in front of the entrance where one can pull up a car and unload luggage or passengers. No fitness facility. However the Silfor is very reasonably priced. The staff are pleasant although not all speak English. For a night, it is okay. For a longer stay, or a desire to be closer in the old town, I recommend the Radisson.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back may be quieter.

The Silfor Premium is bland in style and could be anywhere, however, we had a comfortable double room with enough storage space and a large bathroom. The room had air con, a flat screen TV (only 3 English language channels, all news based), one curtain at the window and two single quilts on the bed! The breakfast had the widest choice I have ever had with hot meats & scrambled eggs, different breads, cheeses, cold meats, eggs, salad, tomatoes, pickled peppers & cucumbers, fresh fruit & yoghurt. There was also fruit juices, tea, coffee & hot or cold water. The hotel was a 15 minute walk from the city centre, there are trams but at the time we went there was major road and construction works going on, so I'm not sure. Wroclaw itself is a city undergoing renovations on quite a large scale in preparation for the 2012 European Cup and 2016 City of Culture. The main train station is being totally refurbished, so the main entrance is on the other side of the tracks - check your maps! There are also many places where road works affect the tram routes and bus stops. If you travel to Wroclaw in the summer beware the biting insects, take anti histamine tablets and cream and cover up or make sure you sit in a breeze! Fewer people in Wroclaw speak English including some of the hotel reception staff, however, there is a very helpful Tourist Information centre in the main square who can help with most things.

Room Tip: When the trams are running the rooms at the front could be noisy
