“Egyptian obelisk there!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2012

Yes, maybe strange, but many interesting artefacts from Egypt and Sudan are presented. And if you're interested in first signs of human activities in the Great Poland region, also go here.

“the Museum in Poznan I visit most often”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2010

The Museum is not large, rather modest, the permanent exhibitions are not sensational. Better are the temporary exhibitions. The museum's strengths is its location (in the corner of the market in the old city) and building where the museum is located! The building is unusual, it is well maintained and has an great, amazing courtyard in the middle of which stands a real Egyptian obelisk. The location is ideal for events staged in the history realities. Only few people know that this museum is one of the first archaeological museums in Poland.
