If you are into Egyptian history, this is not a museum to miss. I think it is a bit undervalued as attraction of the city.

So much interesting stuff is off the main town square which is essentially one sprawling restaurant. This was a pleasant surprise with four main exhibition rooms, Ancient Poland, an Egyptian display (very well done), a Sudanese desert display (interesting rock carvings), and a room dedicated to a famous Polish archaeologist (whose name escapes me). There is also an adjoining cafe which houses an original Egyptian obelisk, and, to my surprise, a free performance of live music (Prokofiev's Violin Sonata, etc).
Not too shabby for PLN 28 for a family of five.

The whole museum consists of 4 rooms, half of which is filled with miniature models of various aspects of life of "ancient people". The target audience of the exhibition is 10-15 year-olds, so if you already know how they made fire or weapons, you really don't need to visit this museum.

I've first visited this museum when I was 12 and now, nearly 20 years later it was just as great. The place is interesting to both adults and kids. A lot of displays are interactive and there is a kiddy trail to follow so the little ones don't get bored. Highly recommended.
