“Nice design, but ...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2013

For a Hostel/Apartment the rooms are decorated exceptionally nice and the location is excellent, next to many nice cafes and shops, in walking distance of the Old Town. The staff is kind and tries to make your stay pleasant and the price is not too high.

However: the entrance is from the back of the building and on the Nowy Swiat-Street there is no sign of the Hostel, so you have to ask in the Starbuck´s to find the entrance. There is also no reception, which is quite disappointing. There is a telephone number and you must be prepared to pay a lot, because the person at the reception (which is in another building) has to ask his boss ... I also asked for a receipt - it was promissed to me, but I never received it. The rooms, which look to the street, are quite noisy at night and there is some unpleasant smell in the whole building.

I think this apartment-hostel has a lot more potential than it uses - an investment in a receptionist on site and a new printer for the receipts would pay off.

This is not a hotel, but apartments converted into hotel type rooms. If you are familiar with Warsaw this can be an excellent choice.

Our room, #2, was well appointed with furniture. It would be more comfortable if some hooks were added, in the room and especially in the bathroom. There are very large windows affording much air and light. There is no air-conditioning, but there is a large fan which helped on an exceptionally hot day. We also had a balcony, with a small table and two comfortable garden chairs, where we enjoyed eating meals.

Our room faced not the street, but the interior of the block (as does the entrance to the building). This interior is a surprising large empty area, part of which serves as a parking lot during the day. The buildings on the other side are quite far away, and appear to be uninhabited at night, so we felt we had complete privacy even with the windows wide open. It was also perfectly quiet. Visitors should be warned that the other side of the building faces Nowy Swiat St., a busy street dominated by small upscale eateries. The hustle and bustle (and busses) go on till well after midnight.

The location – Nowy Swiat is an attractive street. Five minutes to the north is the university, another ten the old city. A stiff and dull 20-25 minutes' walk in a different direction brings you to Warsaw Central Station and Warsaw's commercial district. 20 minutes to the southern end of the ghetto, more the the rest.

The downside is that there is no reception/front desk here. It is after all just an apartment house. The office is in another property, but it is available 24 hours a day by telephone. The telephone must be your own cell-phone; there is no land-line in the room. The staff in the office speak English well, and were helpful in ordering cabs and the like. Nonetheless for the traveler not familiar with Poland and Warsaw the absence of a reception desk is a detraction. Finally, getting an invoice/receipt turned to be something of a hassle.

For the dati traveler: Standard (non-electronic) keys, but nowhere to leave them on shabbat. The entrance to the room inside the apartment has no natural light at all, and is absolutely dark – the light turns on automatically by a motion detector. Cannot be recommended for shabbat. There is a fine upscale grocery right across the street, and an even better small fruit and vegetable store in the alley next to it.

I stayed at this hotel in the centre of Warsaw. Well placed clean hotel near many cafes and restaurants. I found it easily and after a quick phone call I was registered in a short time. Check in is a bit late but you can leave your bag whilst awaiting your room.
My room had a "manga" theme with a bloodied sword.....the bedding was very good. A small fridge and safe were well appreciated. There is no reception no restaurant or bar. Varsovie has a cafe culture and many shops stay open very late, there is no risk of being without something.
The fre wifi works well, and you also get the Stabucks wifi!
I recommend this hotel.

The hotel is fabulous when it comes to its looks but the quality is not of the same standard as the design. The bed was a mattress on the floor and not very comfy. Good bathroom and a kettle in the room. Quite noisy from the street outside. I had requested a quiet room but received one facing the street. You need to make an appointment with the staff in advance so that someone is there to meet you when you arrive. You can also call them about 45 minutes in advance. Ok wifi. No breakfast, a starbucks around the corner.

A converted apartment with rooms turned into well appointed (hotel) rooms on the second floor of a centrally located building. Although Sleep Well does not offer on-the-site reception service, help is a phone-call away (if you do not mind roaming charges!). Staff are all young, accommodating and fluent in English.
Rooms are cleaned every day with a fridge and coffee set which in my case made up for breakfast which is not provided as part of the offer. Although, my room was painted in dark colours (black and gray) it did not made me feel depressed, on the contrary. The only downside to the room is the TV set with very few channels in English.
Great location!

Spring in Warsaw is amazing!
My room was very clean, well equipped, with interesting design. I had room with balcony, and I could chill out. The room was very sunny with nice street view.
When I came the staff gave me free map and tips where to go, and where to eat.
it was very helpfull ;-).
There are two caffes just below our room and lot of restaurants.
Nowy Swiat is the most popular street in Warsaw.

Room Tip: I stayed in Rose room with balcony, the room was very sunny, with nice street view.

this location is fantastic for a short stay in warsaw near to alot of restaurants and walking distance the old city. problem is there is no reception and even though we had arranged our arrival time by email, they still expected us to call them 40 mins before our arrival time. which is extremely inconvient as you can imagine. No one was there to let us into our room when we arrived and we had to call lucky for us we had battery in our mobile phones, but having to pay the annoying roaming charges this did not please us. Stay away from the rose room which is noisy as it is directly on the main road side and does not live up to the website pictures at all!
