“A mini-history lesson”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2013

What is wonderful about this site besides the honor guard, the flowers, the respectful visitors and the park, are the plaques alongside. They list the dates and the descriptions of every conflict that Poland engaged in during its long and tumultuous history. One really cannot help but admire the fortitude of the Polish people as they attempted to fight off invasion after invasion from the Prussians, the Austrians and the Russians in the 19th century, and the Nazis and the USSR in the 20th. One cannot forget as one stands here how Poland was left alone to face the onslaughts of both Hitler's and Stalin's armies.

“Under renovation”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2013

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is currently in a construction site. It is surrounded by steel temporary fencing. It is almost possible to see through gaps in the sections but is not worth the trouble. The work is expected to finish lat 2013.

“Great park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2013

My hotel was right in front of this park. I enjoyed taking walks in the park and also the ceremonies taking place at the tomb itself.

“honoring the brave @ the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2013

Witnessing the changing of guards was a neat experience. It was comforting to know that the brave soldiers who perished in the war are daily being honored here.
