I stayed at the Mercure Hotel, Warsaw Centrum, for three nights during early February 2014 and on a Bed and Breakfast basis.
The hotel is located just a few minutes’ walk from Central Station, close to the Palace of Culture and opposite a huge shopping centre with over a hundred shops and popular eateries.
I was checked in by a friendly and informative receptionist and allocated a good sized room at the front of the hotel overlooking the entrance.
The room was stylish and modern and contained a large and very comfortable double bed, a writing desk, TV, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, complementary bottles of still and sparkling water (replenished daily) and a safe which was free to use.
The en-suite bathroom with over the bath shower was, like the room itself, very clean and contained a small selection of good quality toiletries.
Breakfast was taken in a first floor dining room and comprised a comprehensive selection of hot and cold dishes and despite being from a machine, particularly good coffee.
The lounge and Bistro like bar were very comfortable and perfect for unwinding after a day’s sightseeing (or work) and the food and drink on offer was both tasty and reasonably priced.
The only slight negative I am obliged to add is that during the day there was a lot of noise from the modernisation work being undertaken but all had quietened down by early evening.
The hotel is just a few minutes walk to Warsaw Central Station which has a direct train connection to Warsaw Chopin Airport and a connection to Warsaw Modlin Airport (requiring a short bus transfer on arrival at Modlin station). It is also a few minutes walk from the bus terminus behind the Palace of Culture where the new ModlinBus service will take you directly to Modlin Airport.
This is a very good hotel in a prime location and offers clean and comfortable accommodation at competitive prices and combined with friendly and helpful staff represents excellent value and I have no reservation in recommending it.
