“A Le Meridien, of course”
Reviewed 3 July 2005

My five days stay at Le Royal Meridien Warsaw have been magnific.

I was there for four nights and my only complaint is a too soft bed for my taste (maybe the mattres need to be replaced). I arrived and leaved the hotel using the limousine service which was waiting me for one hour and a half at the airport due a delay. Fortunately, the driver was very kind and took me through a little tour inside the city. When arrived at the hotel, the doorman took my luggage from the car. My only job was checking-in. I booked a standad room but I was upgraded to a executive one at no extra cost. When arrived at the room door, a bellman was waiting me with my bag.

The room was huge! and with a nice "Royal Route" street view. Maybe could be a little noisy for some people, but never at late night. The beds were a bit too soft for my taste (Le Meridien Art&Tech are far better). Air conditioning was quiet. Bathroom was quite big and filled with "Le Meridien" usual ammenities. Dental kit or shaving kit were provided upon request.
The housekeeping service was ok, and the evening turndown service was incredible. When I arrived every night, my bed was half opened, the courtains were closed and a pice of robe was in the floor in front of the bed to avoid putting your nude foot on the carpet. A piece of chocolate and the next day weather forecast were on the bed.

The Marconi restaurant where the incredible breakfast is served has a very nice patio, and taking a book at night and drinking just a beer is a very relaxing experience. The column bar with its Art Deco style was also wonderful. They have a large cocktails menu, and thursdays and fridays, a Jazz group were playing there. Superb!

The front desk staff was really kind and warm, very helpful. They even explained to me to find and enjoy a summer local fest near the river. And of course, the hotel is placed within walking distance to everywhere.

Le Meridien is one of my main hotel chains to stay and always receive an outstanding service. Le Meridien Warsaw demonstrated to me that is really one of the Leading Hotels of the World.

The Le Meridien has one of the best locations in Warsaw: situated on the Royal Route, it is equidistant from the Old Town and the shops and restaurants of Nowy Swiat and only a short cab ride from the central business district. The very comfortable hotel boasts historical interiors with an Art Nouveau lobby and not-to-be-missed Column Bar. The more than one hundred year old building has been completely renovated; the renovation retained all of the building’s charm while adding modern amenities. We had a junior suite facing the interior courtyard and enjoyed the comfort, quiet and tasteful furnishings. The marble bathroom was spacious (even though the shower was too small) and the entire suite was a relaxing break from the bustle of modern Warsaw. We really enjoyed the delicious breakfast served in the courtyard on the first floor and would recommend this option for any visitor. Staying at the Le Meridien reminded us that a modern business hotel need not have the most up-to-minute elements: despite the “lack” of plasma televisions, black-clad service personnel, smoked glass and special lighting, the Le Meridien is a vivid reminder that history often trumps modernity. While no longer the newest hotel in Warsaw, the Le Meridien is undoubtedly one of the best and we would certainly recommend it to others.

Spent four nights in this hotel in March and I must say it was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and the food in the hotel was marvellous. Cannot wait to return!

Just had three days in the Bristol on a bed and breakfast basis in what I guess was a standard room (on the 5th floor). Found everything to be as you would expect from a 5 star. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly all the way through from housekeeping to waitresses to reception etc. Any requests we made of them were dealt with immediately and with a smile.
Leisure facilities are fine although pretty limited but we found them relatively un-used so never crowded.
Location is second to none and perfect for discovering the old town and royal route on foot. Try the restaurants beyond the Basilica - they are better and cheaper than the main square.
Obviously the Bristol suffers a little by comparison with new hotels regarding modern standards of comfort but it more than makes up with location and character and charm. Pricey in the bar though!
