I stayed at the Sofitel last year from August 31 to September 3, and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was lucky enough to have got a good deal, as their website had a stay for three nights, pay for two nights offer, and splashed out and got a junior suite.
I arrived in Warsaw around lunchtime on the Saturday and was greeted by someone representing the Accor group, who was waiting for guests and showing them to their taxis. I was surprised that the hotel didn’t have private drivers, but for those who have been to Poland, you will know that the taxis are rather good. Check in wasn’t an issue, though I did have to wait a bit for my room. The room itself was spectacular, with panoramic views of the gardens near by, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the busy bustling streets. The bed was really comfortable, and the living room area was rather nice, with two couches, and a work area with desk. The room came with a Nespresso coffee machine, something that came in real handy. The bathroom was decent, but a bit cramp. Unfortunately there were works going on in the hotel, so some bits were closed, and at times the noise would be distracting, but the noise wasn’t that bad.

Breakfast is served in the massive Kitchen Gallery, and this place is massive! Just as impressive as the size are the options available to eat, different breads and cakes, eggs, though I would’ve preferred some more different types of sausages, instead of just the barley sausages. The staff there during breakfast were fantastic, no language issues at all, and always making sure you had a drink and going out of their way for you.
The only restaurant that was on offer I found during the day and night was the Victoria Lounge, which did offer decent meals and snacks, but being a lounge was a little bit limited, but a great range of drinks to choose from. I have seen on the website that there is another restaurant, the Le Victoria Basserie Modern, but I’m not sure if that was open last August/September.
Internet comes in two options, you can either pay for faster connection that lasts all day, or go the free option, which is a bit slower and is in 3 hour blocks. I went the free option, which did do the job fine.
The fitness centre is amazing, the swimming pool is magnificent, and a stunning setting to the pool, really classical and the lighting adds another level to it. I did find it a bit strange that the saunas were in the changing rooms, and segregated for...More
