We were booked here by a travel agent and thus do not know what the rate was. But on checking in we were advised that for another 25 Euro per day we could have free wifi and a kettle in the room. It was not a good start.

The room was adequate, but the self closing bathroom door a nuisance and the duvet on the large bed was exactly the size of the top surface, meaning with two people in it it was too small. The bed was also on the very firm side.

It proved a real nuisance to have to queue at reception every day to get the internet code for an hours free wifi. Really in this day and age almost every cafe offers hassle free wifi for free. The breakfast selection was however excellent, but it was tempered by the news that they do not offer a restaurant in the evening, and on our first night when we were not familiar with the district it was hard to find a restaurant. While others have lauded the location as a tourist I would have far preferred to be in reasonable walking distance to the old city, but I would guess that is over 30 minutes away on foot.

Eventually we identified the closest restaurant area and it had a vibrant night life. But it's on the opposite corner of the intersection, behind the shopping centre that contains Marks and Spencer.

Our room was very quiet, and faced into the atrium.

Room Tip: There is free wifi of one hour per day in the lobby, but you need a special access code and must que...

Recommend - incredible value for money

For our 75€ per night in our corner room (112) we got a very plush room of over 45 sq m with 3 windows and a lovely marble bathroom - excellent fixtures and fittings, tv, desk, couches (2 and 1 seater) - very 5 star

Double glazing was very good as hardly any exterior noise

Free wifi and a lovely breakfast as described by other TA reviewers - plus everyday as part of the room service we got a free bottle of water and chocolate each

We were a 10 minute walk from the bus and train stations and the old town was only a 30 minute walk away - the Warsaw uprising museum was also only a 30 minute
walk - go early as it gets crowded

We enjoyed every aspect of this hotel starting with their car service from the airport to their great hospitality. We found staff friendly, well-informed and helpful. There was a cheerfulness about the staff that speaks of a well-run establishment. The room was quite attractively decorated without a lot of fussy decorations. Everything worked well and it was a pleasure to be there. The breakfast was excellent, especially for someone who loves smoked fish like I do. It was a different experience than a big international chain (although it is a member of a Worldwide Group), being warmer and more attuned to its location. You felt like you were in Poland not just "any world hotel".

Besides all that, the location is wonderfully central. It is in a part of town that has been restored, right by the Centrum metro. We enjoyed walking up to Saski Park and the Old Town, both within an easy 20-30 minute walk. Other parts of town where some major hotels are located just didn't have the liveliness of this area. Everytime we left the hotel we had a feeling we were somewhere interesting. Polonia Palace isn't just offering you a place to sleep. It is also offering you a real welcome.

Room Tip: We were happy with a courtyard facing room on the 6th floor. Lots of light and quiet.

Right in the center of Warsaw. A hotel with a long history, large modern rooms, well cleaned. Very good breakfast and all that for a price that is far below what you can find in Western Europe. The only down point in the protocol is the price for the wi-fi connection.

One night's experience here was way beyond expectations. We arrived by taxi from the airport, as it was 11am our room wasn't ready so we left our bags and reception staff were great they gave us maps to explore Warsaw. It's 30-45 mins walk to the old town, or there are trams, buses and metro stops 2 mins from the hotel.

Checking in was good, staff friendly and spoke good English. Our room was 528, fifth floor, with a great view across Warsaw and to the Palace of Culture. Despite the main road below we didn't notice any significant road noise as others have commented. Room was modern, tastefully decorated and had everything you need for a short stay. Beds comfortable though duvet was strangely smaller than the bed. Slept ok though. Bathroom spotless, tiles had under floor heating and even TV sound was fed into it. Shower good and hot, and bath had double shower curtain both in and out of the bath, never seen that anywhere before. TV good mix of European channels, and had portal to other pay services. WiFi available at cost, free in Lobby. Good size mini bar well stocked though did not use so cannot comment on prices. By the lift there was a shoe polishing machine, another nice little touch of luxury.

Buffet Breakfast was very comprehensive, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, pastries and cakes, fruit, juices, champagne, fish, hot selection including sausages, egg, beans, mushrooms, and an omelette frying station. Coffee machine delivered quality coffee. Avoid 9am it was the peak time to eat and was very busy.

Bar had happy hour every evening 50% off. Didn't try gym or Sauna but our party advised it was very good. We didn't try the hotel restaurant other than for breakfast.

Overall this is an outstanding value Hotel. Very few European city hotels would match this for quality at the price, certainly none that we have ever stayed in. More than worthy of its star rating, and a great way to enjoy Warsaw.

Room Tip: Premium rooms face the Palace of Culture.
