“A really handsome street.”

Even better now that cars are banned. I don't know whether this is permanent or just for Summer but it really improves the prospect.

This is the best way to approach the old town as the view improves every few yards you take. It leads down to Krakowskie Przedmiescie and then to the old town with beautiful churches on both sides, excellent cafés down to the Royal Palace.

The view you get of the old town is substantially the same as Botticelli painted it, so authentic is the restoration.

This is one of the "must do" walks in Warsaw. It isn't far about 20 minutes to walk down Nowy Squat and then to the old town. Stopping off at all the places to see takes much longer but makes a delightful visit.

If you visit Warsaw take a walk along Nowy Swiat from Krakowskie Przedmisie to Plaza Trzech Krzyzy. Its a street full of cafes and restaurants, cute small shops, business connecting Stare Miasto (Old Town) with Plac Trzech Kryzy. Interesting cafes with full of life, with great desserts and drinks. Its fascinating to watch people in one of the cafes where old and young meeting for coffee, definitely interesting street to visit!

We did the recommended walk down the "Royal Way" per Rick Steve's guide. Lots of interesting sites to see on the walk - including the cathedral with the heart of Chopin, and a vial of PJPII's blood. Look for the black marble benches that tell the story of Chopin's life in Warsaw. Visit the Hotel Bristol, one of the only buildings to survive WWII, as it was the Germans hangout. See the Art Deco in the hotel. At the end of the walk, you will find your self in Old Town.

And maybe the best part is that the city closes the street to all non-emergency vehicular traffic on Sunday. Maybe Saturday too. Our weekend time was limited to Sunday. During our several days in Warsaw, we ate several times along Nowy Swift.
Great people watching here, too.
Highly Recommended

A street with beauty and a long history full of nice buildings, cafes, resteraunts and shops. Not to be missed by visitors to Warsaw, particularly at the weekend when it is traffic free. Often the site of parades, marches and various other events..
