The statue of Chopin under a willow tree is set in the middle of a park with terraces of roses growing all around. There are many benches. It would be a good place to listen to a Chopin recording on your iPod, as it is very peaceful. I understand that there are concerts here, but we were not lucky enough to be there for one. A must for lovers of Chopin.

Do go here on Sunday when during the summer months there are free piano recitals at noon and again at 4 pm. Make sure you arrive early if ytou wish to sit down. A must even for non-lovers of classical music.

Along with Copernicus and Marie Curie, you will find many references to Chopin as you walk around Warsaw. This statue of the him beside a willow tree is just inside the entrance to Lazienki Park. The statue dates back to 1926 but was destroyed in WW2, what you see is a replica from the 1950's. On Sundays during summer there are free concerts around the statue at noon and 4pm.
