“Excellent stay”

A lovely stay in a beautiful tranquil setting. The meal Clive served for dinner was just outstanding. Great value for money. My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer. I would recommend this property to anyone. Thanks Clive for looking after us and making our stay so enjoyable.

We were two families travelling together and stayed one night one our road trip. It would have been lovely to stay longer. Location was fantastic and Clives cooking was delicious. The kids loved Patrick the house Great Dane. Will definately have to return to Slovenia and stay for a longer time.

We stayed in Reka Hisa at the start of April 2014 for a 3 day snowboarding break. Having visited Slovenia a couple of years ago we wanted to explore the slopes and experience the more rural side.

We found Reka Hisa via the internet and it looked to provide all we were looking for. A full package from airport pick up, daily transport to the slopes, pass, kit hire and breakfast and evening meal.

Clive the owner is an excellent host, chef, and is there to ensure you have an excellent trip. Aswell as being an all round decent bloke. And not forgetting Patrick, who welcomes you each morning - if he can get up.

Would we recommend Reka HIsa, without any hesitation - my other half is thinking about going back for trout fishing and we'll certainly be going back for a stay and ski trip again.

My family and I spent the Christmas week in Slovenia in 2013, and we had a brilliant time. Some of us were first time skiers but we had so much fun. It was such a relaxing week, we didn't have to do a thing, everything was done for us which was fabulous and so very relaxing. We could just chill out in our rooms or in the lounge. We all sung Christmas carols on Christmas Eve and we did karaoke On Christmas day. Everyone had a great time. When the weather prevented us from skiing, Clive and Myrna were very helpful in trying to make arrangements for alternative activities, which included visiting the beautiful caves and a session of bowling, which we all enjoyed. Reka Hisa itself is stunning. The sound of the river is beautiful and the views of the mountains which are right outside the door are just amazing. Im already thinking about my next skiing holiday and would even like to go back in the summer.

I stayed at Reka Hisa in July 2013 and absolutely loved everything about the place and Slovenia - one of the most memorable vacations I've taken in the four years I've spent in Europe! Reka Hisa's location alongside the Sava Bohinjka (stream) is serene, yet convenient - it's only 10 minutes drive from Bled and very close to the beautiful Lake Bohinj. The rooms are comfortable and spotless. Clive and Myrna are incredibly hosts and a wealth of information on an array of nearby outdoor activities; they provided fantastic recommendations for great day hikes in the nearby Julien Alps and even lent me maps. One of the highlights of my stay was Clive's wonderful cooking; at the end of the day, it was such a treat to enjoy delicious three-course dinners, great local wine, and fun conversation with Clive, Myrna and other guests. I am so glad I stayed at Reka Hisa and really hope to return sometime in 2014.

We are lucky enough to have stayed at Reka Hisa 4 or 5 times in Winter, Spring and Summer and we plan on returning time and time again. This time was in September and we used it our base whilst celebrating our wedding day with friends and family in Bled and getting married in the chapel on the beautiful lake. Our hosts Clive and Myrna possess an attention to detail that is to be admired and nothing is too much trouble. The food, prepared from locally sourced produce, is prepared by Clive every evening and is the highlight of every day at Reka Hisa. Slovenia has so much to offer and our hosts are always prepared to point you in the right direction, suggest where to go and where to avoid and generally make your visit as action packed or as relaxing as you like. If you are thinking of booking a stay at Reka Hisa then don’t hesitate as they tend to book up quickly. Once you’ve done that, read the rest of our review below and relax knowing that you’ve made the right decision. The only problem with leaving a positive review on TripAdvisor is that it increases the likelihood of there being no room next time but I’m sure Clive and Myrna won’t mind!

September 2013 was our 4rd or 5th stay at Reka Hisa following many long weekends skiing, both on our own and with kids. We're proud to say Clive and Myrna now treat us like family.... which was a good job really since my fiance and I politely asked them back in 2012 if they 'knew' any good wedding planners in Lake Bled as we wanted to marry there. We'd simply fell in love with the beauty of Bled and the surrounding area and wanted to share this magical place with our family and closest friends. Secretly we were hoping Clive and Myra might accept the challenge and luckily they did - they offered to be our Wedding Planners! They were more than happy to use their vast knowledge, experience and contacts to ensure our wedding was exactly what we wanted it to be. So, a year later, on 14th September 2013 we were married in Bled - at the Registry Office there followed by a blessing in the stunningly beautiful Church of the Assumption on Bled Island. Clive and Myrna arranged absolutely everything for us and our 30 guests, based on our requirements.

We really can't thank Clive and Myrna enough for what they did and the huge amount of time they spent turning our dreams into reality. The wedding day itself was utterly amazing, we won't give you with all the details but it was totally unforgettable, and it was ALL down to Clive and Myrna. They even arranged a wonderful picnic in the hills the following afternoon, complete with Clive's fabulous home cooked goodies, a bbq, and Mynras impeccable organisation skills and eye for detail . Clive and Myrna catered for a vegetarian, a coeliac, and an extremely fussy eater without hesitation. The only thing they couldn't manage to arrange was the weather! Although we had beautiful blue skies and sun on our wedding day, it was misty and rainy the next day. This didn't pose a problem as Clive and Myrna had though of everything and fortunately the picnic location had an indoor refuge big enough for all. Clive and Myrna didn't stop there - they also arranged a day's fly fishing for one of our guests and even took our remaining party out on a day's 'mystery tour' after we'd left to travel home.

We don't want this review to simply ready like Clive and Mynra - planners of our wedding. We simply wanted to convey that nothing is too much trouble and they take genuine pleasure in making sure their guests have absoluely everything they need.

It feels like home when we stay with Clive, Mynra (and Patrick) and we were thrilled to be able to share this special place with our friends and family. We will be retuning without a doubt and who knows, maybe in 10 years time Clive and Myrna might raise to the challenge again and help us renew our vows in beautiful Bled..! An unforgettable weekend made possible by unforgettable people. A million thanks to you both. Mr & Mrs D

I returned to Reka Hisa this summer, having skied here a couple years ago, for a 4 night adventure holiday with a group of 10 friends.

Each day was packed full of exciting activities including kayaking, canyoning, horse riding, mountain biking, white water rafting and the Emerald River day trip – all organised flawlessly by Clive.

Every evening was spent sat around the dinner table, laughing about the day’s adventures, remembering the spectacular scenery we saw, whilst enjoying 3 courses of delicious, home-cooked food and local wine!

The rooms were perfect for what we needed for this trip and waking up to the sound of the river outside was so relaxing. At 3.30am one night, we also witnessed the biggest/loudest thunderstorm any of us had ever seen!

The trip was absolutely brilliant and once again, Clive and Myrna (and Patrick) were the perfect hosts. We all enjoyed it so much, the 10 of us have decided this will definitely become a regular trip for us...and until next time, looking through the thousands of photos we managed to take will have to do!
