“Good value hotel in a beautiful location”
Reviewed 7 March 2014 via mobile

We stayed in the hotel jezero for a week and skied in the vogel area during that time. Although the hotel looks some what like a typical 70s eastern european hotel from the outside it is thoroughly modernised inside. The rooms are clean and spacious, albeit the mattress in the room we stayed in was a little soft, it didn't do anything for my lower back!! The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating and spoke very good English. The food was served as buffet style so there was always something for everyone, I am a vegetarian but still managed to eat plenty. The is a 15 metre pool, which time it right, you can get a decent work out done.
The location is great, right on the edge of the lake which I understand in the summer offers lots of water sports. The hotel is approximately 4.5km from the mountain cable car for skiing or hiking in the summer and approximately 6km from the centre of Bohinj were there are a number of bars and restaurants. The hotel does stand isolated in nature so not a good choice for those looking for a lively village centre location but ideal for those how want to be located close to nature.

We arrived after midnight. Not only was the welcome warm but food arrived in an instant. That set the tone. The room was spacious, comfortable and warm. The food was truly excellent with a breakfast for every taste and evening meals which always had a good meat, fish and vegetarian option. The staff, without exception, were friendly and very helpful. OK, now if you are after an exciting night life enhanced by an intake of industrial quantities of alcohol, legal and/or illegal highs and trance music that takes your eardrums to the limit....forget it. The bar was usually shut by 10.00pm. On the other hand the location is superb, the ski bus takes 10 minutes to get to the Vogel Gondola and the place does have a decent indoor pool and sauna at no extra charge. There is a good supermarket nearby and local buses to Bled and beyond are reliable and won't break the bank. We'll be back.

We usually stay in this nice, modern and elegant hotel during wintertime, due to the beautiful Vogel Ski resort nearby in a all-inclusive package (hotel + skilifts), but the Bohinj lake is splendid also during summer time. We always recieve a warm welcome, the rooms are large and well furnished. We often enjoy the Sauna and Swimming Pool facilities and the restaurant serves high quality dishes, from both the Slovenian Tradition and the classic continental cuisine. Very recommended!

I've just spent a week at Hotel Jezero and was delighted with the room, the food, the facilities and the staff.
The room was clean and well equipped, the selection of food was good and the staff were very friendly. I will certainly be making a return visit.
Thank you for a wonderful week and an unforgettable holiday.

We booked this a few days before our trip via Crystal. The room was warm and had a very comfy bed (two pushed together and made into a double) with smooth cotton sheets. Good buffets every evening with delicious soups, stews, fish, veggies and wine or beer. Staff were really helpful even retrieving my earring when it fell down the plughole. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for one week from the 25th Jan and had a really pleasant stay.
The best things that stood out for me were;
A good sized bedroom with a 6' wide bed.
Bathroom ample size plus good shower and plenty of hot water.
No problem with noise (our room was on the 3rd floor at the rear of the hotel)
The hotel was warm and clean.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Food is always difficult to rate but I am happy to give it 4 stars on the basis that evening meals were quiet varied over the week (served 7-9pm) and you helped yourself to whatever you wanted. Breakfast served between 7-10am was pretty much the same all week but with just about enough choice to suit most.
The swimming pool was warm and the sauna was a great added bonus to.
The slightly not as good bits were;
Internet was only really available in the reception area and stairwells, sometimes it was ok in the dining room and very occasionally it did managed to work in our bedroom.
The TV in our room was an old type which worked fine on some channels but you noticed that modern transmissions didn't quiet fit the screen (I think most new programmes are broadcast in the rectangular format as against the old more square style) not that you go on holiday just to watch TV.

The hotel impresses with its fine location by the lake and the church. Reception and bar staff are all friendly and helpful.
The room was spacious, nice bathroom (with bath) and the balcony overlooking the river and lake was a treat (though a bit chilly to linger on).
Food was varied and plentiful and the draught vino and beer very pleasant indeed (we also tried a bottle or two of even nicer Slovenian vintages, delicious).
We were there for a week to snowboard at Vogel, but took a couple of days off to explore the forest and canyons (stunning, even in a torrential downpour) and also Lake Bled (easy hourly bus service).
Ski bus service was limited so we walked back along the lake instead a few times, really beautiful and tranquil.
Vogel ski resort is great for beginners and medium intermediates and drinks and food up the hill are very good value for money. A wonderful week!
