We picked the hotel in Slovenia purely for the bargain price ! We normally ski in France or Austria but went with the attitude may be rubbish, may be fab , and have to say we were def pleased with our choice ! The hotel is lovely, warm and welcoming, all the staff could not do enough for us, we were on the 3rd floor with a balcony looking out the rear of the property and it was beautiful. Shower lovely and hot each night and bed's were to die for !Food was very good quality, i am a vegetarian and a fussy one at that but they accomodated me with what ever i asked for, and hubby enjoyed all his choices, he especially liked the beer which is half price compared to France (bonus ) Kat the Crystal rep was superb, the best we have had, she was always there, made sure we got on the bus each morning bless her and always had a smile. We did a candle lit walk with her one night which may sound a bit naff, but we had a brill time, probably something to do with the mad Scottish woman and her husband who came with us ! walking through the forest in the snow with just a flame to guide us .The weather was great, we did have one day where we could not ski because of a white out, but we had fresh snow while there which i love being the big kid i am .The skiing is good for average skiers, think if very advanced you may get a little bored but you know how many runs there are before you go if you do your home work. If you are looking for nightlife dont go here, as it revolves around the hotel but had a comfy bar with sofa's so all we wanted , the lake is beautiful and we felt the most scenic place we have skied.
Well done all the staff at Krystal Hotel, keep up the good work,
Alli and Michael

We stayed here as part of a package deal and based our decision largely on our budget. However, we would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to ski at nearby Vogel or explore Lake Bohinj.
The rooms were a reasonable size with good showers in the bathrooms. There was a good choice of food served both at breakfast and for the evening meal and it was all delicious.
We were given complimentary ski bus passes and had the option of two buses in the morning and two buses back from Vogel in the afternoon. These times fitted in with ski school so that was easy, especially when the bus stopped outside the hotel.
It took about 5-10 mins to walk down to the lake where there were some other hotels, a travel agency, a supermarkets and an ice rink (did not go to it though).
What I really liked about this hotel were the extra touches. The hotel staff were all excellent, they couldn't do enough for us - we did not hesitate to ask them for assistance or recommendations through the stay. When we arrived back from a day's skiing there were complimentary hot drinks, soup and bread (4-6pm) before dinner. The sauna (1 hour per room to be booked in advance) was lovely, we certainly wanted longer than our allocated hour. I also booked a massage which I would highly recommend.
Overall, the hotel was great for our ski holiday and would make a perfect base for anyone wanting to ski or go walking in the local area.

Stayed a week as part of a first choice ski trip. Staff where very friendly and helpful, nice little hotel, would happily stay there again. Good selection of food severed every night. When ever one showers at once temperature can vary so be warned! There isn't much in the local area but was easy to get to the ski resort. Only a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest shop.

We have just came back from our one week ski holidays and are extremely pleased with the hospitality if this country .
People are very very friendly even to the point that I was given a car keys from the complete stranger so that we could obtain 2 for 1 ski passes from the near by petrol station!!!!! Hotel owner Alenka was so nice to all of us and very attentive and helpful with any questions we had.
Food was great ,especially their freshly baked morning sweet pastry and afternoon fresh local grilled fish.
We recommend this place to everybody who is keen on skiing(the Alps over here are gorgeous),walking, cannoying, fishing, cycling, mountain climbing, the whole lot!!!!
Just go there and enjoy!!!!

I recently stayed at the Hotel Kristal on a skiing trip with a group of friends that included adults, a teenager and 2 under-10s. We were looked after fabulously well by the hotel proprietor Alenka, and her family.
The food catered for everyone's tastes - there was a choice of main courses for dinner and always the flexibility to request something that wasn't on the menu.
Alenka went out of her way to help us organise our ski hire and passes and gave us a regular weather update. A number of us took advantage of the 'Wellness Centre' and had a 'four hand massage' - a unique experience and highly recommended after a day on the slopes.
The family went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable and easy.
