Hotel is ideally located, and i reccomand it for skiers. During our vacation there was limited snow so we went to pool in H Larix which is neer, but... Room's were small for four p (2 children under 6), and have a small TV with limited satelite programs. The food was tasty and well presented but the choice was fairly limited.
the biggest issue was - no wifi in rooms.

We stayed here for Christmas from 21st to 28th December 2013. The hotel is ideally located on the main ski slope so you can literally ski from the hotel to the ski lifts (although there was limited snow whilst we were there). The hotel is clean and modestly decorated and the rooms have plenty of space and good views of the village on the front. Not much happened on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and you couldn't differentiate it from any other day apart from the lights in the dining room being dimmed on Christmas Eve. The food was tasty and well presented but the choice was fairly limited. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness and straightforwardness.

Stayed at this Hotel 2nd week in March which was the final week for Cyrstal ski in Slovenia.
We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel considering some of the reviews. The rooms were big and although basic offered everything needed. The bathroom looked as if it had been recently refurbished and there was plenty of wardrobe space. As others have noted the rooms were very warm but all the rads had thermostats so easily controlled. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a balcony facing the village. The hotel lift is small so a room on 2nd/3rd floor would be best as the dining room/bar area is on the 1st floor.
The food was also better than expected and chicken, beef or fish were all available on most nights with various combinations of pasta rice or potatoes and plenty of veg. All very nice. It was quiet in the hotel and only part of the dining room was being used so no queues and plenty of choice, I can imagine when its busy its a totally different situation. They didn't provide water with the meals but the bar prices for wine and beer were reasonable, soft drinks and bottled water were very expensive.
The bar area on the terrace (1 st floor) level is nice with lots of seating and free wifi but the bannister around the terrace isn't safe for small children and needs additional rails as the gaps are too wide and so you can't relax if you've got small children runing around.
The main reason we stayed at this hotel was for the childcare provided by crystal which was good. Overall It was good value for the price we paid but if it had been more I wouldn't be happy with it.
The hotel is located part way up the first ski slope and you can walk out onto the slope and ski down to the lift, only disadvantage is the walk to/from town. I would have preffered to be in the town, the Larix hotel in the town was better and its just a walk out from the locker room to the lift.
The town itself is really nice with lots of bars and coffee shops and a small supermarket. I would recommend Charlies Cafe in the town Square good coffee and cakes.
The resort itself isn't that easy for accessing the slopes from the town and for walking around in your ski gear they are more used to visitors with their own transport.

Room Tip: 2nd or 3rd floor facing the town

We have recently come back from a week skiing for the first time staying in this resort. The rsort is great for a beginner or some one with only a couple of weeks experience as the runs are short and not too demanding, The Alpina is well situated for skiing on the doorstep and is good for night skiing which my daughter and her cousin enjoyed as an evening activity after dinner.
We had 2 rooms 303 and 304 the latter had a balcony overlooking the slope and 303 had a view out of the back and was smaller. the rooms were basic and very warm the cleanliness was excellent, my only gripe was the bedding felt like sandpaper on my skin and the pillows offered no support.
The Hotel was welcoming reception staff brilliant, however the bar was expensive compared with pubs in the nearby village.
The food was good however it is not going to win any awards for its cuisine, it is on par with a works canteen or motorway services, wholesome, edible and plenty of choice,
but they do need to layout the buffet so as there is one end for a queue and one end for dessert etc. the plates were located in the middle of the hotplate thus causing chaos when trying to fill your plate.
Do not put anything expensive in the ski lockers as you can open them without keys as the metal cages bend easily as the locker below mine came open whilst I was putting my skis into the locker.
Equipment hire was brilliant well ordered and quick by intersport Bernick, the tuition that my daughter had was good but i wish they had got her used to a lift sooner instead of making beginners sidestep up the hill all the time, they have enough lifts suitable for beginners this inn my opinion wastes time, I was never taught like this.
The Crystal reps were helpful and informative and offered plenty of activities, the quiz night was a laugh, and the taste of Slovenia is worth a go as it is within staggering distance of the Hotel.
My Daughter and her cousin made use of the pool at the Larix hotel as did the Wife make use of the Spa treatments which she said were good too.
The best Skiing is round the Podkoren lift which offers a mix of black and red runs which were practically empty when We were there.in fact no queueing at lifts which was a bonus.
the pistes were well groomed.
Would I go there again? YES
Would I stay at the Alpina ? Yes but I would pay the extra and go to the Larix at the bottom of the slope

Room Tip: The Rooms on the ski slope side have balconies

The Alpina hotel is perfectly located on the ski slopes. The accommodation is roomy. It is rather tatty and the rooms need upgrading. The reception staff are not the friendliest. The breakfast is ok and the diningroom staff are pleasant. Considering the accessability to the ski slopes the price is reasonable.

Just returned from a week at the Alpina with Crystal holidays. We had a fantastic time, all of the staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and the choice of food excellent. We booked intermediate ski and snowboard lessons through Crystal. They use Intersport Bernick who are fantastic. I couldn't recommend them enough. They made the holiday with their fun and enthusiastic teaching. We will defiantly go back next year !

This is our second trip to the Hotel Alpina with Crystal. The hotel is clean, tidy and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is pretty basic but there was enough on offer for our 5 year old and 12 month old. The bar is quite pricey and they do charge for water on the table at supper. The in house crystal creche was, once again, second to none. The girls made leaving our lively youngest so simple. Kranjska Gora is a real village, based around young families. If you are looking for miles of joined up runs and lots of mountain cafes then you are in the wrong place. This was our oldest daughters frist time in ski school, they were fantastic and at the end of the week she participated in the slalom race and thoroughly enjoyed the fridays ski party. She was also zooming up the button lifts! The black world cup run lives up to expectations, there were many fallers whilst we were coming down, The Kotnik pizzeria in the older part of the town serves the yummiest pizza ever! Bor, next to the ice rink, is also tasty and very reasonable. Bar Vopa is great if you can get a night out... the booze is pretty cheap. The pool at the Prisank was once again a great way to unwind after a mornings skiing. We went on one excursion to Lake Bled, it was a beautiful place to have visited and I can recommend the delicious bled cakes. A wonderful family friendly holiday with lots of apres ski activities for young children in the afternoons.

Room Tip: We were in room 106 which was dated and quite sall for the four of us, rooms on the upper floors wer...
